This is the New Year

In keeping with the traditions of this holiday, I want to take some time to reflect and share my best discoveries from this past year.

10. This blog!
Why? Because it's been good to share my perspectives with others over frivolously fun things.

9. The Detroit Red Wings

If you didn't know, I think its time that I inform you about how awesome they are in a clutch! Plus they also have one of the best histories as a team in hockey. So I fell in love the moment I went into the Joe Arena and was able to see their mad skillz up close and personal, while having the chance to learn about the amazing players!! And hanging with even better fans!

8. Zuko
So, I've never been the type to side with the "bad guy" in all things and granted I discovered the greatness of Nick's Avatar" The Last Airbender a few years ago, but this summer with the closing of the series and some insights into the character of Zuko I was able to put his past disgression asides and take a look at the masochist that he is. And who can say no to that! No honestly he was necessary for the success of the Avatar and he was so complicating interest that you could never forget him. Unlike Sokka who always had a place in my heart since day one, Zuko shoved his way in there too.

7. Board Games

I know, not something I talk about often, but their a great way to learn a new skill. Bond over the suckiness that always exist when competition comes into play. Finally the best way to get to know someone and spend some extra time with friends!!

6. Prince Caspian

What's not to love? Ben Barnes. William Moseley. And for Mind Grapes Skandar Keynes. Besides the hot main character with his sexy fake Spanish accent and the boldness of the Susan and the ever lovable Aslan with all the action and more of the first film. What's not to love (I say again)?

5. President Elect Obama

More precisely this is in reference to the election and the great exhibition of skill and intelligence that was exhibited and look forward to the 20 days until his leadership is made official. I am truly excited and ready to see where he will take our country.

4. Chuck
LOVE Him!!! There is nothing that can ruin this adorably cute and complicated character for me. I can't wait til he returns in February!! Without Chuck on the TV landscape life would be very dimly lit.

3. Ingrid Michaelson

I am so enamored with this woman's lyrics, because every time I listen to her CD I gain something new each time. Ever since I first heard her uniquely melodic voice I felt that she understood a hidden part of my mind and heart and was able to connect from the very first song. I can't even chose one song as the ultimate song from her collection, that's how good she is to me.

2. Battlestar Galactica
It's just too amazing to sum up in a paragraph. But simply put it always leaves me desiring more and its just so exciting and twisted. Along with all the underlying issues of who has the right to survive? Do we as humans truly deserve it or do some toasters with legs deserve to make the universe theirs? It's a lot more complicated of a decision than you would think. Finally I must leave you with this:

1. Veronica Mars
Besides the brillance that is Kristin Bell and even Jason Dohring and my undeniable urges to share the sublimeness of this show with everyone. I mean come on I even had an embarassing outburst in a crowded food area with the glee of Veronica on my brain. I will truly miss the look she gets on her face when her plan is executed!

I look forward to the great discoveries of 2009! Happy New Year!

The Christmas Song-List: Part 1: A "Winter Song" for You

Hello dear readers,
It is now less than a week before Christmas, and that means lots of snow (12 inches in fact; it looks like a Norman Rockwell landscape outside of my window), a sorely needed break from school, and a myriad of other lovely things, one of which is loads of Christmas music!! Now, I know we all know about the standard fare (the classic Christmas carols), and those are all well and good. It wouldn't be Christmas without them. But, every now and then, new artists get together and actually create a Christmas song that breaks the mold--i.e. Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson's new song, "Winter Song," which I've placed right here for your viewing/listening pleasure.

This song is so beautiful that it gets a 5 out of 5 hot cocoa mug rating from this blogger. There's actually a rather cute music video that's on the Sara Bareilles YT channel, but the "embed video" feature was disabled, so I couldn't post it here. However, if you want to watch it, you can by clicking here.

It's also on the new album out called: The Hotel Cafe Presents...Winter Songs

Not only are Sara B. and Ingrid Michaelson present, but there are also few other female singer-songwriters that you might recognize, such as KT Tunstall, Katy Perry, Fiona Apple, Colbie Caillat, etc.. There are a few gems on the album, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend buying the whole thing (In my hastiness, I did anyway). If you're an singles-downloader, I'd recommend the newly written songs like "Winter Song" and "The Heartache Can Wait" by Brandi Carlile and "All My Bells Are Ringing" by Lenka. Some of the new renditions of old classics aren't too shabby, either. "Silent Night" by Priscilla Ahn, Fiona Apple's "Frosty the Snowman," Catherine Feeny's "Christmas Song," and "Auld Lang Syne" are still enjoyable listens. And my apologies to all the Katy Perry fans out there, but...the only song that made me regret my "complete my album" iTunes purchase was her version of "White Christmas." The stripped down production doesn't suit her well, and the reverb on her vocal does not cover up the fact that she sounds inebriated and bored singing this old classic, which has been done way better. She could learn a thing or two from Mr. Bing Crosby...(like how to sound classy and not like a loose woman who's had one too many rounds of egg nog. Sorry, that was a bit too mean.). Anyways, I digress. Despite a couple of flops, "The Hotel Cafe Presents...Winter Songs" still has a lot to offer listeners who are looking for something new this Christmas season, and many of its songs will prove worthy additions to any music lover's collection.

Album Rating: 3.5 hot cocoa mugs out of 5.

Any Christmas songs you think are absolute must-listens???

Call Me "Sir"

Okay!

So Mind Grapes was discouraging me from watching BSG, cause she thought I wouldn't like it. And she was right....cause I LOVE it!!!!

When I began watching the miniseries I at first was like, this is lame, a total rip of Bladerunner, Terminator, The Matrix ect. But then I got into the good, amazing stuff!!! I mean it has a great plot line, decent characters and has actual conflicts and consequences that viewers can see, the true purpose of a story.

First impressions. Admiral Adama a total dipstick. Then I saw how much he really loved his son and that changed my whole perspective on him! Cpt. Lee "Apollo" Adama, a total cutie yet a follower of protocol. Starbuck pretty BAMF! The first scene she's introduced in she's a puches a superior out! Guys for being so brillant I'd have to say he's a total failure! Six total manipulative and sexy fembot (pretty typical with this genre). Oh yeah, General Tigh, total drunken "superior asshole"

I have to say what got me hooked was the story between Lee and Starbuck and the issues they had over how he died along with the not knowing who's a cylon or not. Total Shock Moment!! When you find out Sharon is one of them...and that's totally depressing cause she seems like she's a cool character except for her moments of yelling and attempting to prove how right she is...

Ultimately, I'm excited to see how it goes down and hopefully Guys
I'm ready for more travels on the Galatica, off to watch the more of the wars!

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA WATCH IT!!!!

Veronica Mars Season 3: The times they are a changin

Oh, Season 3....I don't really even know where to begin with you. Season 3 of Veronica Mars took a show I was obsessed with and turned it into a show I could barely finish because of the problems I had with it. And it really pains my heart to have to admit that. I had heard bad things about season 3 before starting, but when the season started off strong, and I was enjoying where it was going, I just chalked it up to people being annoyed with all the changes in the show. Because I liked the changes. I liked that there were three smaller mysteries that made up the season instead of one season-long one. I think this actually solved one of the problems of season 2 with not being able to sustain interest in the season-long bus crash mystery because they had to stretch it out so much. I thought the rape mystery and both of the murder mysteries were extremely well plotted, interesting, and had great resolutions (I don't think I guessed a single culprit). They also allowed for Veronica to be fully invested in each case, and by proxy, we were too. So there are no complaints when it comes to the big mysteries. I even really liked the new characters, Piz and Parker, and thought that they added a lot to the show. Heck, even the fact that she was in college and was in a different setting didn't bother me at all. So what did bother me? Where do I start?

First, the characters, or perhaps, the lack of characters. While there were a lot of characters on the show, it felt like a lot of them got the short shrift this season. I thought that Veronica and Keith got a ton of story lines and development, which was really great and not enough can be said about the awesomeness of Kristin Bell and Enrico Colantoni. But quite a few of the secondary characters who had bigger roles in the other season seemed to be tossed to the wayside. I was excited when the season first started because there was all this potential with Wallace and Piz and Parker and Mac, but I was disappointed in the end with the amount they were on screen. Wallace, if he was even in an episode, would only be on for like, a minute which really bummed me out. I missed him. And I just felt all around that the other characters, even poor dead Sheriff Lamb (who I kind of loved in the end), were wasted. The only secondary character who I did think got enough screen time and whose extended screen time greatly improved the show was Dick Casablancas. Not only is he hilarious, but his sadness and his growth over what happened to his brother as the season went on was pretty much the only link from this season to the other, better seasons, which always reminded me of how much I used to love the show.

My other problem? Logan/Veronica. Oh yes, I'm going there. And ok, I admit it, I'm a huge LoVe shipper so I'm incredibly biased, but I just thought that a lot of their story line was handled poorly. I was really excited to see them together at the beginning of the season, and was looking forward to seeing them happily together for a while (we haven't really gotten much of that in the other seasons), but instead, the writers had to find ways to make them fight every single episode over extremely stupid things. Couldn't they have just been happy for a while? And if it was painful when they were together, it was even more painful to see them apart. I think those two deserve each other and would have ended up with each other in the long run, but having them not be together in the finale, and only sort of reconciled? That hurt. As far as Logan is concerned, I really think they should have gone the route of season 2 and given him his own story line separate from Veronica. Because I love Logan so much, but his story line this whole season was Veronica, and because of that he became kind of...sappy. He lost a lot of the snark and bite of the old Logan we all know and love. He was still my favorite character, he was just different. And because Veronica was the one doing most of the dumping, there were times when I was really upset with her, and I didn't want that to happen. I expected a lot more on the Logan/Veronica front this season, and while they gave us a lot of them, it wasn't what I wanted and therefore, the end of the season wasn't as enjoyable.

Even though season 3 had a lot of things I wasn't too happy about, I still did like it, and it was still better than most things on television. The truth is, I was so upset with the end of the season it took me 3 weeks before I could watch the finale, "The Bitch is Back". But once I did, I felt a lot better about the season I had just watched. I know it ended on a cliffhanger, but the finale gave me some kind of peace, because while watching, I was reminded why I had once loved this show so much. This episode was like a checklist of things that had once made this show so great. There was Leo and Clarence Wiedman. There was Jake Kane and memorials to Lilly and pictures of Duncan. There was Mac hacking computers and Wallace helping out on a case. There was Logan acting completely reckless, but doing it all for Veronica. But most of all, there was a detective and his daughter, one who he loved so much he was willing to sacrifice his job over, and one who loved her dad just as much back. Veronica, she was back, but more than that, Veronica Mars was back. And when Veronica walked down that street after voting for Keith in the election, I may have gotten a little emotional. Because I finally realized, I wasn't ready to say goodbye to one of the greatest shows on television.
Farewell Veronica Mars! And thanks for all the memories...

Heroes 3.12 "Our Father" and Chuck 2.10 "Chuck Versus the Delorean"

Heroes:  I have to admit, I kind of feel bad for writing all of that horrible stuff about Heroes in my last post, because this episode?  Probably the best episode of the whole season.  Of course, it wasn't without huge plot holes and annoyingness, but I actually really...enjoyed it!  Claire, for the first time in a very long time, wasn't bothering me, and the scene with Hiro and his mother was one of the best scenes this show has ever done.  It brought tears to my eyes.  I really liked everything with Hiro this episode, and was so glad he got his memories back, because 10 year old Hiro was a bit annoying.  Sylar was FANTASTIC!  That's the Sylar I know and love!  Although I wasn't able to really, truly enjoy evil, psychotic Sylar, because his character changes never make any sense at all and happen so quickly and frequently I can't keep track of them all, it doesn't really matter because dear lord do I enjoy watching Sylar be evil (and hilarious "Hm...It does tingle").  There were of course, some bad things (like, is Hiro really stuck in time again? Can you think of something a little more creative next time, writers?), but I was really kind of happy with this episode, and I hope that the rest of the season continues down that path.

Chuck:  This was maybe my most favorite episode of the whole season!  It had a perfect blend of humor and character moments, and it involved all of the characters and settings wonderfully.  I especially liked seeing Sarah's emotions over her dad, and having Chuck comfort her, proving in the process that those two really do love each other.  This show and its characters are fantastic, and I can't wait until the Christmas episode next week!

It's been such a long time...

I feel really bad about not writing on the blog for as long as I have, but school lately has been kicking my ass. This is the first time I'm able to finally sit down and have a go at the blogging for a long time.  Because of this, this post is going to be a roundup of all the things I've wanted to talk about the past 2 weeks, but haven't been able to because of being busy.

Things That Are Happy Making:

  • Adam Baldwin as agent John Casey on Chuck.  I love Chuck.  I think it's a really funny, cute, clever little show that more people should watch.  But my absolute favorite part of the show?  Casey.  Adam Baldwin can say more in Casey's signature "grunts" than most actors can say in words.  This is my favorite Chuck scene, by the way.
  • The last episode of Fringe was by the far the best episode of the whole show.  I like Fringe, but I normally don't really pay that much attention to it while I watch, but this episode had me on the edge of my seat.  I was actually really upset that we have to wait until January for the new episodes.  Walter and Peter are still the best parts of this show, and I find that their relationship is really interesting and kind of sweet (in a twisted sort of way).  Ya'll need to become acquainted with Walter.  He's a riot!
  • Speaking of best episodes of television shows, the True Blood finale.  Fantastic.  Normally for me, this show is a mixture of cheesy badness and sort of goodness, but the finale was all goodness.  Sam and Tara are still my favorites, and I can't wait to find out what's up with Admiral Cain.  (I really hope Lafayette's not dead though!).  For the lols: Sookie...can you feel my influence?
  • The oldest ever Lolcat!  From 1905!  And it still can't get a cheezburger!  Words cannot describe how awesome this is.
  • HBO has bought the rights to turn the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series by George R R Martin into a television series!  I love these books!  I just finished "A Clash of Kings" and I'm already on to "A Storm of Swords".  If they do it right, this show is going to be awesome!  Tricia Helfer for Cersei!
  • New promo for season 2 of Flight of the Conchords:

  • Twilight in Fifteen Minutes: SAY MY NAME, BITCH!  Also, OMG LEIK HI MAH NAME IS ISABELLA SWAN.  Plus, OMG EDWARD IM SO BORED IM SERIOUSLY GOING TO DIE OMG.  The Twilight fandom can be pretty amazing sometimes.
  • I don't know guys, I may be more excited for Lost to return than Battlestar Galactica.  I don't know what's wrong with me, but I've been on such a Lost kick lately.  I can't wait until the DVDs come out!  New season 5 promo pic.
  • Now, this doesn't mean I'm not excited for Battlestar.  Oh my freaking god am I excited for Battlestar!  Here's the new promo for the season:
  • OMG ADAMA IN THE AIRLOCK, WHAT?  Here's a mysterious website with mysterious clues for the upcoming season: You will know the truth.  These last episodes are going to be epic.
  • Prince Caspian on DVD.  For Narniaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!
  • The Killers' and Kanye West's new CDs.  Music is good too, people!
  • Hugh Jackman in Australia.  Rugged...

Things That Are Sad Making:

  • So, I knew I would have to mention this sooner or later, but Pushing Daisies has been cancelled.  I think I felt like if I didn't mention it, it would make it not true, but alas.  This is especially hard because the last few episodes have just been amazingly good.  Our drunk, Twilight-watching friend, The Derelict, has a wonderful rant about the subject here
  • Heroes.  This is the stupidest show on TV at the moment and I can't believe I keep subjecting myself to it every week.  I liked this show during the first season.  I didn't love it by any means, and I always felt like people praised it way more than it deserved (I love this article: News Flash: Heroes Was Always Bad), but I enjoyed it nonetheless, mostly because it was something new and fresh and exciting and I really liked some of the characters (Ando! Nathan!).  Now that all the newness has worn off however, it's just...bad.  And it gets my blood boiling more than any other show.  This show has crappy dialogue, annoying characters, horrible acting, inconsistent characterization, and totally indiscernible plots.  And don't even get me started on what the show has done to Sylar.  That, my friends, is the worst crime of them all.  It's gotten so bad, I was happy that Elle got killed off so Kristin Bell can be free of this crappy show.  Fly away, Kristin Bell!  Fly away, to bigger and better things (like a Veronica Mars movie).  And yet, I keep watching out of some sick hope that maybe it will get better (or for the fact that it comes on after Chuck so I just leave the TV on out of habit).  I can't wait until 24 comes back in January so I will have no choice but to stop watching.
  • House.  Why?  Why do the writer's love Thirteen so much? WHY?!  You know, I didn't hate Thirteen when she was first introduced, but the fact that she is shoved down our throats constantly every single week has made me LOATHE her.  She has freaking more screen time than House for gosh sakes!  Her character isn't even that interesting, and Olivia Wilde isn't even that great of an actress!  So why do the writers insist on giving her so many story lines? She makes me miss Cameron....and I used to hate Cameron!  I know this sounds silly, but Thirteen is ruining this show for me.  I was way more interested in this week's episode of Fringe than I was House.  And that makes me sad, because House was a show I used to consider a favorite, and now I barely care about it.  Go DIAF, Thirteen!  Even professional television critics agree with me!
  • The saxophone.  Tis the devil's instrument.

I'm so excited for this show to return I can't even talk about it

New Lost trailer/promo/The Fray music video:
I know I need to stop posting trailers for this show, but I can't help it!  OMG DESMOND/PENNAH!!!!  AND SAWYER AND JULIET HOLDING HANDS!!!! I want Sawyer/Juliet, people!  I want it!  Wow, I almost cried watching that...I'm turning into a crazy person!
Here's the Season 5 poster:
WHERE IS JIN ON THIS POSTER?! WHERE IS HE?!  Zozzizle, you need to come over here and reassure me that Jin is still alive, ok?  I'm feeling sad.

Apparently, I really can talk about my excitement, heh.  I think I might even do some season 4 posts when I get the dvds in preparation of season 5.  SO EXCITED OMG!

Twilight Movie Review

5 words to describe Twilight the movie:  Zzzzzzzz.  Chagrin.  Dazzle.  Unintentional laughter.
----------
A special Ashitaka's Angels guest blogger, The Derelict, Twilight movie review:
Confession:  I've never read the books.  Another confession:  Thank the Lord for small favors.  This movie was boring.  I was drunk while I watched it but not drunk enough.  I would have had to have been stone drunk wasted passed out in the corner to have been drunk enough to see this movie.  It was just plain boring.  There is nothing worse in cinema but to be boring and unvisual.  This movie was unvisual (did I mention I'm still drunk from the thought of having to even review the boringness that is this movie).  I will recap this movie in five words.  Ready?  Go.
Rain
Wooden
Vampires
Glitter-sweat
Okay, you've seen the movie now.  Don't hate me for removing five seconds from your life.  Blame Stephanie Meyer's bedroom fantasies.  Seriously girl, make out with your husband before it's too late.

Fantastic review, Derelict.  The only person who could describe it better is Edward Cullen himself:
Oh yeah....I'm dazzled.

Supernatural 4.09 "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and 4.10 "Heaven and Hell"

I cannot believe how good this season of Supernatural has gotten.  I've always thought it was a good show, but this season seems to find every episode reaching even greater heights than the one's before.  It's been a while since there was a true two parter on this show.  They have cliffhangers every once and a while, but these last two episodes "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Heaven and Hell" really felt like two parts to one whole.  It's why I saved talking about "Last Summer" until I had seen both episodes, because both played off the other.  While "Last Summer" was a Sam-centric episode dealing with what Sam went through while Dean was in hell, "Heaven and Hell" was very Dean-focused, where we finally learned about his time in hell and his connection to the new demon on the block, Alastair.  There were a ton of parallels in both eps.  Sam connected and slept with the demon, Ruby, while Dean hooked up with the angel, Anna, an interesting commentary on where both boys' stories are at at the moment.
"I Know What You Did Last Summer" was definitely the setup episode of the two.  We got the intro for Anna the angel whisperer, Alastair, and Castiel and Uriel bringing the vengeance.  But this episode also had some great payoff in the form of flashbacks to what Sam did while Dean was in hell.  And it wasn't pretty.  I loved this episode for the exploration into Sam's character, something which has been lacking so far this season.  His hurt, hopelessness, and grief was painful to watch and Jared played those scenes wonderfully.  I happen to be in the minority in that I love the character of Ruby, all the way from when she first appeared and was played by Katie Cassidy (who I still love better than the new girl, even though she's starting to grow on me).  So I really liked seeing how she found Sam and helped him.  I still don't know if we're supposed to fully trust Ruby or not yet, but I get the feeling from her that she really,  genuinely is in love with Sam.  That she really wants to be a "good" demon and that Sam is the only person who she feels connected with.  I bought their sex scene because it was angry and wrong and hot, and Sam was so completely at rock bottom that he just wanted to feel something, anything to take away the pain over Dean (compared to Dean and Anna's sex scene which I felt was totally unbelievable and gratuitous.  It just seemed to come out of nowhere).  Not to say I want a permanent Sam/Ruby pairing, she is a demon after all, just that I bought the scene and thought it added to the evidence of just how messed up Sam was when he lost Dean.
As far as "Heaven and Hell" goes, there were a few things I had some trouble with.  I'm not sure how much I bought Anna as a fallen angel who turned into a human or the stuff with her grace and the necklace.  I was also a little disturbed at the implication that heaven and God?  Not so great actually.  What the episode did do extremely well however, was setting up tension throughout.  The whole episode was filled with a sense of dread for both the angels and the demons coming for the Winchesters, so when both sides finally did meet, I was on the edge of my seat, heart pounding in my chest.  It's been a while since an action show like this has made me really, truly excited (I'm looking at you Heroes), and to sound undignified for a moment, I was absolutely freaking out, holy crap!  The showdown was particularly good because of all the characters involved.  I admit to absolutely loving both Castiel and Uriel.  They both bring so much to every scene they're in.  Castiel's calm sadness mixed with Uriel's aggressive bravado is so fascinating to watch, and I absolutely loved their fight scenes, especially the first one where you can really see both their personalities come through, with Uriel physically attacking both Dean and Ruby while Castiel calmly puts his fingers to Sam's forehead and knocks him out.  And then there's Alastair.  I'm always for the show adding new demons, I think they do a really good job with that side of the supernatural, and this new guy was suitably creepy.  That scene where he was torturing Ruby was really disturbing.  That actor really sold it and I totally bought that this was the head punisher of the underworld.  The big showdown ended with neither side really coming out the victor, and I liked that.  I like that Alastair presumably got to live to see another day, and that Uriel is clearly not going to forget everything that went down this episode.  And poor Castiel, he always has that conflicted, lost look on his face.  I wonder if they're leading towards him becoming a fallen angel as well.  There seems to be hints there.
Of course, the greatest scene of either episode was the last scene of "Heaven and Hell", the boys sitting on the Impala, drinking a beer, like they've done a million times.  But this time, Dean, much like Sam in the previous episode, decided to stop keeping secrets and share what happened to him in hell.  And for those people who wonder why we're fans of the show, this is a scene I would point them to.  These emotional beats between the characters is what makes this show what it is.  Dean divulging the pain he felt over what he did in hell brought me to tears.  Much of that is due to Jensen Ackles' heartbreaking performance, but more is due to the connection we as viewers have made to Dean throughout these last 3 seasons.  We've come to know Dean almost as much as Sam does, and to see him in pain and to see Sam in pain over Dean, absolutely shattered me.  These are the moments that Supernatural does so well.  Because after everything, after the demons and the angels and everything else, this show is about the characters.  And when they cry, we cry, when they're happy, we're happy.  And it's reasons like this that I will always care about the show.  Because the show has crafted the characters in such a way that I will always, no matter what, care about Sam and Dean.

Thursday excitement!

So this is pretty much the greatest thing ever.  A little promo for the second season of Flight of the Conchords!  Premiering January 18th!
Gosh, I missed those two.

Some more Thursday excitement:  Remember, new episodes of The Office, 30 Rock, Supernatural, and (for good grief) Smallville on tonight!
Tis a good day...

A plea...

Pushing Daisies comes back from its 3 week hiatus tonight with a brand new episode!:

Episode Title: Oh Oh Oh…It’s Magic

Episode Summary: Ned reluctantly agrees to help “The Great Herrmann” (guest star Fred Willard), a famed magician whose animal assistants are being mysteriously killed off. The magician has been a surrogate dad to Ned’s half-brothers Maurice and Ralston (Alex Miller, Graham Miller) ever since their father walked out on them. Meanwhile, Dwight Dixon (guest star Stephen Root) insinuates himself into the Aunts’ lives, but Lily is instantly suspicious of his motives.

thepiemaker.com

What I'm most excited about in this episode is getting to see Ned's adorable twin half-brothers again! Yay!

Ok, here's the "plea" portion of my entry:  Please please please watch this show!  There is a very big danger of it being cancelled because of low ratings, and it would be an absolute crime if that were to happen.  This is one of the most wonderful, creative, beautiful, inventive shows I've ever seen before in my entire life and I really think people are missing out, and that's a shame.  I've talked the show up a lot in my past entries, and I don't know if there's anything else for me to say.  So here's this awesome video I found that really sums up the magic and whimsy and sweetness of the show and the Ned and Chuck relationship.  Watch the video and remember to watch Pushing Daisies at 8 tonight on ABC!

WHY?!?!?!?

So this past week in the areas of Smallville and Metropolis, Chloe basically lost all of her memories. Due to the overuse of her new powers and the infection that she gained from Brainiac.
Chloe Sullivan is one amnesiac girl on a rampage in this epi. And the only thing that remains to the near end are her memories of Clark until the moment she's left alone and begins to forget him too!

The Ahh-HA! moment came when she has a memory of Black Thursday (the episode where she kisses him because she's unsure if she'll ever see him again--unexpectedly a good moment) and everything gets replaced and all she can remember is Davis.
Who apparently is Doomsday * dramatic music here* and in love with Chloe. Which I saw coming a mile a way but I still have to say, Dang Davis! Why are all up on Jimmy's girl.

Anyways back to Amnesia Girl she goes running into the arms of Davis who is making some creepy changes who brings her back to her fiance and bestie buddy and Clark takes her to the newly built Fortress of Solitude and replaces her memory through the powers of Jar-El but here's the glitch and the thing that is truly upsetting me, why did he have to take away her memory of when she discovered his powers and what made their best buddy bond so tight :(
I mean she was the best sidekick a guy could ask for. But I guess I can see him wanting her to be happy for the few days before her wedding.
Which happens this Thursday in a episode called "Bride"

And we all know that a wedding in Smallville can never go down without a hitch in the giddy-up.
As we found out after Davis confessed his love to the bride and her admittance of a connection before stating that Jimmy is her only one...
I can see it now the drama that will involve Davis and maybe a fight between Clark
Along with the dubious infection that Clark caused with the re-building of the Fortress with a mysterious and troublesome crystal.

Finally with the eminent return of Lana Lang--whom most cherish and adore, but personally I wish she would DIAF!!! Cause she may be the worst returning character and if she takes the spotlight for either Chloe/Jimmy or Lois and Clark new collection I will personally throw the match myself!!

Also none other that the evil Lex Luthor is rumored to return, because apparently he's in connection with Mercer.

On the Cubicle front
:

The Office my why question has to be why won't Angela just let Andy loose already! I mean really that whole moment in the bar with Oscar just showed, if it hadn't before that this relationship just needs to be over. I mean the fact that she was with Dwight when he called her is a major problem.
So I hope that the producers clear that up soon. Finally I'm so glad that Pam "came back the wrong way" Cause I don't think that I could take much more of them being separated! I just love the twinkle in their eyes when they're together and hopeful they can bring that spark back to the office atmosphere.
Also Ryan has a serious problem and is such an idiot!!!
I need to say YAY!!! for the return of Toby, because I find it so hilarious how much Michael hates him :)

Goodness I love November Sweeps!

New Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince trailer!!!!!

And it is amazing!
I know this is the first time I've mentioned Harry Potter around these parts, but I am a huge Harry Potter fan of both the books and the movies, and I cannot wait for this movie to come out!  This trailer looks fantastic and is only making me sadder that the movie got pushed back (WE WOULD HAVE BEEN SEEING IT NEXT WEEK)!

This trailer is apparently going to be shown in front of the new Twilight movie, which I am going to be seeing out of my morbid curiosity at how bad it's going to turn out.  I'm a glutton for punishment, what can I say?  Still, I look forward to seeing this trailer on the big screen as well as being reminded of what a good book series really looks like. ;)

ETA:  OMG OMG OMG new Watchmen trailer:
I'm super excited for this movie too!
It's new trailer day or something! Yay!

Monday Night Primetime

Chuck and Heroes return this week the NBC!!!!

I'm so excited!!!!!!!!
I know it was for only week and for a good cause, but I still missed them.

There's no let downs for this blogger with Chuck, because this season he's as adorable as ever :) Hee! And they added a new story line about Sarah's past which is super intriguing. Also we can see the heightened feelings they have for one another. It's going to be interesting to see what happens when his ex-returns this week.

On the Heroes front the show has taken a pretty interesting direction, there have been so major changes some great and not so great. This blogger is malcontent with:

  • Peter losing his powers
  • Sylar being a possible double agent
  • And Elle might die, because she had a "Claire" moment and ran into the building!!!!

Also something that is uneasily settling is the fact that Claire just told Nathan where his dad is after Peter insisted on him not knowing. SERIOUSLY, something is wrong with Claire and I hope they "FIX IT!!!" soon.

Even more upsetting is the fact that this week we don't even get to move forward and find out if my girl K. Bell will survive. Because it's yet another flashback epi, to before they were Heroes and discovered all that they could do :(

At least we'll get to see the emo bangs :)

"There are only two things I like: everybody and television"

It's a Thursday night television roundup!
The Office 5.07 "Customer Survey"- Whenever you combine Jim and Dwight in any capacity, you can guarantee hilarity will ensue.  While I've been loving season 5 so far, this episode I think may have been the funniest one of the season.  Hell, the fake sales call with Jim, Dwight, and Michael may be one of my favorite scenes this show has ever done.  So funny!  I've also been slowly realizing that Kelly is one of my favorite characters.  Every scene she's in is brilliant, heh.  When watching this episode, my friends and I were commenting on how it's so nice that Jim and Pam are just being cute together and not having problems.  Then, of course, they had to end the episode with all that New York angst and I was sad again.  Mostly because, I don't know what they're going to do.  Pam can't stay in New York for the whole season, but yet, she isn't really going to want to move back to Scranton and be a receptionist again.  I don't know what's the best thing for the show to do, and it's scaring me.  I'm just going to trust the writers because they have never let me down, but Jim and Pam have a lot of decisions to make and they're not going to be easy.

30 Rock 3.01 "Believe in the Stars"- This episode was so much better than last week's.  I was really disappointed with the premiere, so this episode was such a relief.  I don't even know if I can go through all the funny parts of this episode because it felt like I was laughing the whole way through.  I will say though, that the amount of time Kenneth is onscreen greatly increases the likelihood that I will like an episode, and there was an abundance of Kenneth love in this episode.
Favorite quotes (besides my absolute favorite one from this ep in this post's title):
"I watched Boston Legal nine times before I realized it wasn't the new Star Trek!"
"I never get picked anyways because I wear my Princess Leia outfit"
"White people stole jazz, rock & roll, Will Smith, and heart disease!"
"I'll call you back.  I'm sitting next to Barpo!"
"Kenneth Parcel, you are one Latina fantastica." "Hola"
"Is Spongebob Squarepants supposed to be terrifying?"

Supernatural 4.08 "Wishful Thinking"- Wow, I absolutely LOVED this episode.  I'm a big fan of Ben Edlund episodes because they're always so wacky, and this one did not disappoint.  It was hilarious.  I can't even tell you how hard I laughed over everything with the little girl and her 7 foot tall, suicidal teddy bear ("Why am I here?" "FOR TEA PARTIES!") and Sam and Dean as teddy bear doctors ("lollipop disease").  But what I absolutely loved about this episode, was that even though it was funny, it was also serious, and it revealed a lot about both characters.  Hearing that what Sam would wish for most wasn't his old normal life back, but instead Lillith dead, was so interesting and telling, and to hear Dean say he remembered everything that happened in hell was surprising and horrifying and I can't believe that Dean is even functional.  But most of all, the reason why this episode was so good for me, was that it really felt like a Sam&Dean episode.  They were together in almost every scene, they were figuring things out together, sharing things together, and just being brothers.  And that, my friends,  is why I will always love this show.

Everything always comes back to vampires

What is it with our pop culture's obsession with vampires?  It seems like lately I can't get away from them. Earlier this year, I was forced by a friend to watch Buffy and Angel.  I'm constantly (and against my will) bombarded with the Twilight phenomenon.  And now, I've got sucked into the new HBO show, True Blood.
True Blood explores what would happen if, in a world much like our own, vampires really existed and they exposed themselves to the world, and are now trying to integrate themselves with humans by drinking synthetic blood called Tru Blood.  The heart of True Blood however is the story of a naive waitress, Sookie Stackhouse, from a small town in Louisiana, who meets the handsome, brooding, Bill Compton, who's, you guessed it, a vampire.  It's mostly a love story between a human girl and the vampire who loves her, but because it's not TV, it's HBO, there's plenty of violence and sex to appease everybody!
The reason why I decided to do a post for True Blood is because I have very conflicting thoughts about it, and I had to put them out into the open.  On one hand, I've gotten totally sucked into this show.  I watched episodes 5-9 over the weekend, and am attempting to catch up on the first four episodes that I missed at the beginning (I'm on episode 3 at the moment).  On the other hand, I really don't think this show is that good, heh.  It's kind of cheesy and silly and the plots don't really go anywhere and the characters are all filled with cliches and stereotypes and are all kind of annoying.  Like, do we really need to see Jason have explicit sex every episode?  We get it, he's a slut.  While I do appreciate seeing Ryan Kwanten shirtless every episode, it's getting to the point where I just fast forward every time he has a scene, because it's like, been there, done that.  You can only shock me so many times, True Blood!  When dealing with the vampires, the show is also totally over the top.  That vampire staking in episode 9 was so ridiculous, it crossed over into being cartoony, instead of scary.
And yet...I still kind of love it.  It's funny because all of the reasons why I think it's a bad show can also be attributed to why I love it.  Like, the most cliched and stereotype filled character on the show is probably Sookie's best friend, Tara, yet Tara is just so bitchy and awesome that she's one of my favorite characters.  And sometimes the over the topness of it all is kind of amazing.  Like when Sookie ran through the cemetery in her long flowy white night gown before flinging herself into the arms of Bill and then having hot vampire sex.  That scene was so ridiculous it sort of turned around into being awesome (and hilarious).  And while they can all be kind of annoying, I really do love most of the characters.  I don't really like Sookie, but I enjoy Bill and his gentlemanly charm.  I love Sam, probably more than Bill, and I love that he's really a dog (or whatever is up with that, heh).  I also am greatly intrigued by Eric, I find Lafayette hilarious, and I even sort of like Jason, even though he's the biggest screw up ever.
A trailer for ya:
So, I guess the moral of the story is, I'm watching True Blood.  You should watch too if your into that sort of thing.  I do think it's a show that has lots of different aspects to appeal to all sorts of people: romance, horror, comedy, drama, gore, sex, etc.  Just maybe don't take it all that seriously.  I know I'm not, and I'm finding that I'm enjoying myself a lot more. :)

Last note about True Blood:  You may have noticed that the show has a lot of similarities to Stephenie Meyer's "book" series, Twilight.  What with the human girl falling for the vampire guy, and with one of them being able to read minds, but they can't read the other's mind, and the whole love triangle thing with a dog/wolf.  But don't let that fool you!  The mere fact that Bill doesn't sparkle gives True Blood the definitive edge, but it really is just a million times better than Twilight all around.  After I watched True Blood the first time, I breathed a sigh of relief, because I think it was just what I needed to wash the horrible taste in my mouth left over from Twilight.  STAY AWAY FROM TWILIGHT, PEOPLE!  It will ruin your life!

Surreal is the word you're looking for!

So last night we as a country discovered who our next President was going to be for the next four years. And I'm proud to say that Barack Obama is my president.

All the excitement of that night led me and my friends to create a memory that I won't be able to forget in my old age. From hearing the news of this historic event my friends and I didn't know how to express all the excitement that arose in us, so like many others on our campus we ran outside.

This lead to a the best random experience of my life. Where we as students and as citizens of the beautiful USA congregated on the diag! There were so many bodies and voices gathered there that were probably heard by their government for the first time.

check out this crowd!

This gathering expressed their love for their country and their newly elected President, with chants, that were part of his campaign. Along with their own personal feelings.

Somethings we chanted last night/early this morning
1. Obama
2. Yes we can/did
3. No More BUSH!!!

And among other things singing our beautiful national anthem. I can truly say that this was probably the first time I sang it with true contentment and relation to the words in the song.

After chanting for a bit we eventually decided to take our joys to the street and I did something slightly dangerous, which was being a part of a march and blocking the flow of traffic.
This was just how my friends and I spent some of our times after this news. And I have to say that I dream and hope that we never loose this excitement and never forget the memories and opportuniteis afforded to us in this democracy and in hand with our new President. President Obama.

A little Ashitaka's Angels PSA

To all the readers out there,

This blog usually doesn't delve into politics. But, dear readers, today is different. Today marks one of the most influential and exciting days in our nation's history. The U.S. will be electing either its first African-American president ("...we're solid...solid as Barack!") or its first female Vice President (whose voice is like an "Alaskan windsong"). And the best part is that we, as citizens, get to participate in it! In keeping with that spirit, Ashitaka's Angels encourage you to make your voice known at the polls today. If you haven't already, go out and vote!!!

And just in case you're not convinced to vote yet...Think of the benefits!

1) You'll get to keep this...(nifty sticker)

2) And get rid of this...

Sure, the lines may be long and polling procedure may be confusing, but it'll be worth it in the end. Just think, a couple hours waiting in the poll lines will change the next 4 years in this country.
Here's to making history and making the next 4 years better.

*steps off soapbox*
Have a wonderful day, all!

Major Drama

So, I just finally got caught up late last night on all the drama of Tree Hill!
And oh my is it juicy or what?

"Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly"
There's not much to say besides that it was a episode that pulled more on our hearts strings through the reminiscing about Quentin and the viewers meeting his sadden family. Along with token five year old learning about death and grief. If you can't tell I'm still a bit bitter about what happened to Q. So unfair is the Tree Hill world....

"Bridge Over Trouble Water"
This episode was also dripping with sadness because, Q was in a way still being carried by those who lost him.
Also Peyton meets Mick, who obviously is her father, if you didnt figure it out by the time he started talking about her Bi0-Mom, Ellie, then sorry :(

"You've Dug Your Own Grave, Now Lie in it"
So, Nanny Carrie finally gets to execute her plan of kidding napping Jaimie. This epi could be described as a thriller, especially when Haley find Dan tied to a bed and becomes helpless in the hands of Carrie. Though I was disgusted by the decision of Dan to end her life, at least we know that she won't be returning.

But does anyone else find it crazy absurd that Jaimie is experiencing all these crazy happenings at the age of five?

Also in this episode Lucas is confronted with a major decision Book Tour date or Wedding?
But what makes this decision a true One Tree Hill Moment, would have to be the fact that his ex-fiance who left him at the alter and "truly" believes in him is the one he has to tell this to. And I thought that it was handled in as mature as a fashion as Tree Hill could offer. It definitely was awkward, could you imagine hearing that from someone--It was definetly evident that moment that she left him at the alter that he would end up with Peyton...but he also was engaed previously to his editor a mere six months earlier, if even.

Finally I have to say that Brooke was definitely ballsy yet desperate in that exchange with her mom. And definitely bordering on insanity for handing over her company to her mother! I was really upset by that but I understand how she could just do that, and I'm glad she finally got to discover the truth, although harsh. I'm truly excited to see where her journey will end up. (She has always been one of my favorites)

"Choosing My Own Way of Life"

Slamball anyone? In this episode we get a chance to revist an Old Hottie, Owen! And are introduced to new crazy sport that presents a true struggle for Nathan and Haley.
Why cause it's called Slamball and Nate doesn't have the best back. In the end he decides to play the game and brings back the fun element of basketball that all the viewers enjoyed previously.

Also a part of this hub-bub Brooke choses to become a foster parent, while she attempts to figure out where to go after loosing her company. And let's just say its no picnic :)
And Peyton, well she get's stood up by her dad. And find's out that her dad giving her up was the best thing her for life.

Lucas also makes his first stop on the book tour which brings him disappointments and an old friend, Mouth. After he is given the official news that the tour is a "no go" him and Mouth return to their favorite town and their girls...Being the true romantics they are

"Messin With the Kid"
Bullies are the greatest aren't they? After going through all that drama with Nanny Carrie, Jaimie starts getting picked on at school because of his infamous cape, so as a response Jaimie jumps on the kid and gets into his first fight. And this causes yet another cat-fight on the show between Haley and Nathan.
With Mouth's return he gets a great job and an intern, a returner Gigi, who seems bent on destroying his relationship with Miliscent
Also one of the best "fights" happen between Peyton and Lucas as they transition into living with one another. I recommend seeing this episode just for crazy factor and funny jokes. It involves: painter tape, b. davis magazine, and Karen's bedroom.

"Our Life is Not a Movie or Maybe"
The main reason why Tree Hill is a fantasy world, is because no matter how much the characters fail, another opportunity comes along and usually even better. So just after receiving the news that his new book doesn't have a chance. Lucas gets the offer to make his book, Ravens, into a movie!
Also in this epi we get the return of Derek and not psycho-Derek, but the real thing, as Peyton takes time out to spend with her big
bro and do some reminiscing.
Another huge drama was Jamie and Samantha sneak out to a party and use Brooke's empty store for skater bash. Ending the evening destroying what was suppose to be Peyton's wedding dress.
On the "Browen" front, Owen gets Nathan to talk to Brooke for him and tags along for the ride. Brooke being the confident cool girl that she is, sees right through this "7th grade behavior" I totally love the independence that she exudes and its great to see her considering giving Owen a chance. Also I loved the hilarious exchange between Haley, Brooke and Millie in the store about Owen and his hotness. That's how you know your friends love you, they don't hold back their witty, embarassing remarks from you.
But the ultimate drama happened at the revealing that Julian, who is the producer and guy interested in optioning Luke's film, and Peyton had a past while she was in L.A.
This bit of information basically slapped me right in the face, because we were led to believe that last season Peyton broke his Lucas' heart and never forgave herself there after. We as the viewers were never led to believe that she had made an attempt at moving on. Why? Cause she was the girl who believed in Always and Forever, if anything she was seen as the one who never let go. I mean, COME ON! She flipping painted the River Court in the name of their insanely romantic journey.

I do have to say that I am truly intrigued to see where this leads and what possible problems will arise with the making of the movie and the struggles between Lucas and Julian. Especially when Lucas' finds out what happened between the two of them. But I will be highly upset if they end up breaking up over it! Because we have invested six years into watching their journey and it better end with a magically happy and beautious wedding.

That's Why He's a Keeper

In the spirit of our new layout, I felt that it was time that you heard from Good Grief.

Yesterday the Office premiered yet another wonderful Halloween themed episode, Employee Transfer.

Although hilarious it had a more serious tone to it this week.
The pressing thing on everyone's mind the break-up between Holly and Michael; Personally I think that its a tragedy--they're soul mates. And I think that Holly may be the only person who can put up with his antics and still love him no matter, and for Michael that's rare--very rare. So, I'm hoping that they get reunited in some way. Also I really liked the character of Holly and I will miss her.
Yet this leaves me to think that they might be bringing Tobey back....

Another serious matter, would be the "prank" that Jim's brothers pulled. I personally think that some of the things they were saying were way to harsh. But I love how Jim stood up for her and this, if you didn't know before, signifies that they will make it.

{Just A Nice REFRESHER!}

On the ridiculous, crazy, hi-larious side of things I really love the underhanded competition that ensued between Dwight and Andy. Though hilarious in every aspect possible; Andy as Dwight the beet farmer and Dwight as a wannabe Cornell graduate; I think it's high time that Angela make a choice and stop playing with these two guys feelings--especially Andy's.

New layout + Halloween!

As you can probably tell already, we have a new layout!  Hopefully it's a lot more eye catching and fun and Domo-y!

Also, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
To celebrate, have some Halloween inspired videos!

Veronica Mars Season 2: Why I hate taking the bus

This post won't be as long and complex as my season 1 post, only because I don't feel like I need to go on again about how amazing this show is. Season 2 still had some of the best acting, writing, music, character development, production values, etc. than any show on television. Instead, I just want to mention some of the differences between the two seasons and what I liked and disliked throughout season 2.

Still got those spoilers.

Season 2 was really good. Let me just state that straight off. I enjoyed season 2 an inordinate amount, and was sad when I watched the finale and knew it was all over. That being said, season 2 could not live up to season 1. I'll admit that with a season as amazing as the first, it would be really hard to match it let alone top it, but there were still some disappointments while watching season 2.
Namely, the main mystery. While the bus crash story line was a solid mystery with potential to be as interesting as the first season mystery, I felt that the season faltered a little in the execution of it. And that's not to say that the mystery didn't make sense, I just think the pacing of it was a little off. The reason why the season 1 mystery was so good was because Veronica really had a vested interest in it and was actively pursuing the truth in every episode. Veronica herself was the one who was constantly pushing the story forward. In season 2, I didn't feel like this happened as much. The reason why the last 5 or so episodes of season 2 were so good was because it felt like Veronica finally got interested in the bus story line. Throughout the season, Veronica either didn't care about the crash, or she was sidetracked by other things. I think this is fine for the show to want Veronica to care about other things, but I think it was bad for the viewers because we ended up not having as vested an interest in the story, because our protagonist didn't have a vested interest. In fact, because Veronica was never really driving a story line forward in the season, it was the other characters who had to do it for her. Often times, Keith was the one trying to figure out what was going on by breaking into the bus, investigating the mayor, helping out Terrence Cook, etc. Logan had a complex story line he was pursuing strongly every episode and Weevil had his own as well. I'm not saying that Veronica didn't care eventually, because she did. The last few episodes really clicked because of the fact that Veronica was investigating every possible lead. But because everything was saved until the end, there was so much to reveal and not enough time to reveal it, causing every episode (especially the last two) to feel overstuffed, and like there was not enough time to explore everything the amount they should have been explored. I think this hurt the cohesion of the season as a whole, and made it harder for the viewer to care about the mystery compared to the investment brought on through season 1.
The other problem I had with the season was the resolution to the mystery. The season 1 reveal of the killer was surprising, but in a way that made sense and was satisfying. The reveal that Beaver was responsible for the bus crash was surprising in a way that made sense on a plot level, but not on a character level and therefore wasn't as satisfying as I wanted it to be. It' s been a few days after I watched the finale and I'm still trying to come to grips with the fact that Beaver was a psychotic serial killer, especially because he's been one of my favorite characters all season. But like I said before, it's not that it didn't make sense with the clues that the show had given us. I was absolutely astounded as to how every little thing came together in the end, and how seemingly minor plot points came back to be really important. The amount of planning and plotting out that had to take on the writer's behalf is extremely impressive and another reason why this show is so amazing. So that didn't bother me. What bothered me was just...it was Beaver! Ok, I know that the sweet, innocent Beaver we'd been seeing all season was supposed to be just an act, but what he actually did and how he did it is the sign of a freaking evil mastermind! Like, you don't act the way Beaver did just because you want to keep your secret! And I know, he was damaged from what happened with the mayor and constantly looked down upon by his family and others, but I guess I wanted to see more of the effects from that. Like, I wanted to see that he was turned to do what he did because of his deep emotional trauma. But in the scene where he confronts Veronica on the roof, all I saw was someone who evilly enjoyed being a serial killer. Maybe I wanted to see more remorse or emotion or I don't know. I only got that a little bit right before he jumps, when he loses the gun and starts yelling that his name is Cassidy. It seemed like maybe in that moment, what he did and the ramifications of what he did kind of fully hit him or something. He just looked like a scared, messed up kid. I guess I kind of wanted more of that, instead of thinking of Beaver as this cold hearted killer, because that just didn't seem real to me. Unfortunately, because the finale had to cram so much stuff into it, there wasn't enough time to focus on Beaver's motivations and the ramifications of what he did as much as I may have wanted them to. I'm also still unsure on how I feel about Beaver being the one who raped Veronica. It seems to invalidate all of the emotions felt in "A Trip to the Dentist", plus it felt a little cheap. Still, I've been trying to keep an open mind about the Beaver thing and hope that it will become more acceptable the more I think about it. We'll see.

Ok, but enough about all that negative stuff! I really did love this season a whole lot. Let me tell you why:
Logan/Veronica. Oh yes, I'm starting off with these two. And let me just say that when I say Logan/Veronica, I also mean Logan and Veronica. Seperately. Because I think I enjoyed their antagonistic (yet sexual tension-filled) bickering just as much as their romantic moments. I sometimes felt that when the plot lines multiplied and things got confusing on the mystery front, it was Logan and Veronica who, for me, were often times keeping me invested in the show. I love those two characters and those two actors SO much that Veronica Mars would never ever be as good without them. I think the show did an interesting thing by not having those two be together at the beginning of the season. I admit to LOVING the flashbacks of them over the summer during "Normal is the Watchword", but I actually liked that Veronica was with Duncan for half the season. Not because I like Duncan or anything. I don't really like him. He's passive and weird and boring and NOT a good match for Veronica at all. But more for the fact that having Duncan and Veronica together meant that Logan and Veronica couldn't be together. Strange words from a LoVe supporter, I know. But for me, during the season it never really felt right that those two should have rushed into a relationship. They both were preoccupied with other things. Logan, with trying to prove his innocence in the Felix murder and Veronica with...Duncan, but later with the bus crash mystery. They both weren't really at good places to start a relationship (especially Logan), and I like that they used the whole second season to build that relationship up again. Which led to some awesome scenes of them snarking at each other, yet because the actors are so good you could always sense the lingering feelings between them. Of course, I LOVED the romantic scenes they had between them as well. The "epicness" label for this post was put there all because of them. Because Logan, at the Alterna-Prom, talking about how their relationship was epic, "spanning years and continents. Lives ruined, blood shed, epic," was the absolute perfect description for what their relationship had become. There was never any doubt in my mind, since all the way back at the end of season 1, that these two were meant to be together, even with all the hardships. I knew that Veronica and boring old Duncan weren't going to last. Or Logan and stupid, naive Hannah. These were all just distractions from the main event. And when Logan embraced Veronica on the roof of the Neptune Grand in "Not Pictured", I breathed a sigh of relief. Because while everything else in the show may have been in turmoil, it finally felt like everything was as it should be.
One more thing that I really liked and I feel like I have to mention, was the emergence of some of the secondary characters. I liked that Mac got more screen time and development. I loved that Beaver got more development until, well, you know. But most of all, Dick. I'm in love with that guy, heh. And I know I'm not really supposed to since he's basically the jerky, spoiled, unsympathetic bully of the show. But I can't help it, every thing he says cracks me up. I love it when he's on screen!

Holy crap this turned into another term paper! This was supposed to be shorter than my season 1 post! Oops. Well, for those of you who have made it this far, thanks for reading. Based on how fast I got through the first 2 seasons, I'll probably be done with season 3 pretty soon. Look forward to another million word essay on that season in the near future!
