LOST 6.05 "Lighthouse"

I liked this episode, as I do every episode, but I can say that it wasn't my favorite. It brought up some interesting questions, but still...no real answers. Because of that, just haikus for you this week!

Jack: Father?

but jack has a son?
better question: who is mom?
(please not juliet!)

Claire: Bad wig
Who took your bay bee?
Jin is right, Kate took Aaron.
Shall we kill her now? :D

Lighthouse
Jacob sends us there
mysteries atop a hill
what's in the mirror?

I.O.U.

Heartbreak. That's what the viewers felt and got when they tuned into "Chuck v the Pink Slip." As of last season and with the installation of Intercept 2.0 our lovable protagonist, Chuck Bartowski quit the Buymore and devoted his time and resources to training with the CIA.

While Chuck has all these amazing abilities in the crevices of his mind, he's still the same Chuck with all his human emotions. Well apparently emotions and spy work don't mix and after attempting to fulfill the duties of a spy General Beckman fires Chuck. So losing his chance at being spy Chuck succumbs to what I call "growing a symbolic beard, literally" in this case his beard symbolizes heartbreak. Because in choosing to throw himself fully into the process or spy work he loses the girl. And that is the theme of season 3, the creators Chris Fedak and Josh Schwartz have discussed that season 3 is about Chuck fully stepping into the spy life--but in the process, I believe he is going to loose a lot....everything comes with a price.

That's right!1!!!! Sarah was so ready to run away with him, but he chose to the noble route...and I can't bring myself to fully blame him. While Sarah and him are meant to be and have endured many life threatining situations together, Chuck realizes that it would be selfish of him to runaway from the calling given to him by the Intersect.

But back to Chuck's despondency to life and his beard. After being fired he has no ambitions it seems until he flashes in the Buymore, and is suddenly "awakened" yet again. In so doing he comes into contact with Sarah and Casey on a mission and Sarah--wow she behaves as cold as an iceberg towards him--and despite this he still tries to help and comes into contact with an assassin of the ring. After a bunch of confusion, the kidnapping of Sarah and Chuck through which he proves his true hero potential. So Beckman welcomes him into the fold and gives Sarah the special mission to keep Chuck calm so that the Intersect can work properly.

And in true Sarah nature, as much as we can guess about her, she attempts to be professional and during a staff fight between her and Chuck, it is clear that Chuck could never purposefully harm her.

LOST 6.03: "What Kate Does": Haiku Semi-Recap!!

So. I have to warn you. This isn't going to be a standard recap. It isn't even really a recap mostly because, with every new episode of this magnificent and confusing show, I'm finding Lost un-recappable (and I mean that in the best of ways).

This is one of those shows that, in a span of 44 minutes, delights my brain whilst twisting its synapses inside out as I try to comprehend it. Trying to explain my episode reactions in cohesive paragraphs is a little beyond me at this point. Thus, I have turned to one of the oldest forms of poetry--the haiku. The ones I've written for last night's episode are below.

Read them. Enjoy them. And please feel free to add a few of your own because let's face it..for LOST, there's always more to haiku about. (yeah. I'm gonna make it a verb.)

Some LOST Haikus for 6.03 "What Kate Does"

Claire: The Things that Never Change
Oh, no! Moy bey bee!
Somebody save moy bey bee!
Rousseau 2.0 (?)

Kate
...is more watchable
when she shoots people and steals cabs
than when in love polygons

Dogen
Mysterious BAMF!
John Lennon translates for you.
You make poison pills.

Sayid
Tortured torturer;
You've been infected. With what?
Don't swallow the pill!!!
