For you, Good Grief

More with the crazy Japanese girl and Harry Potter actors! And this one's even better than the one with Rupert. I thought the poor girl might pass out she was so excited, heh. I laughed at this video so hard I was crying omg. Amazing.

So You Think You Can Dance: Top 6 Perform

Jason! :( I was crushed last week when he was eliminated, but at the same time understood it. Watching his and Brandon's solos back to back made it apparent that Brandon really was the better dancer. I'll still miss Jason and his adorableness though :(

As far as the girls, however, last week was a total win-win! It's strange however that when it came right down to it, I was happy it was Janette and not Kayla. I think I'm starting to maybe sort of like her a little bit more than I used to. At least I don't hate her anymore, heh.

Oh, hi, this is my dream Top 4: Evan, Ade, Jeanine, Melissa

Could it happen? Probably not. Do I really care that much? No. I'm telling you people, this years American Idol was an anomaly. I normally DO NOT get this invested in reality shows. I honestly do not really care who wins. It's why I very rarely watch the results shows.

Oh, I'm sorry, you want me to start talking about the episode now? OK!

HOLY CRAP, THIS SHOW IS STILL 2 HOURS?! Sigh....

Oh, Lil C is there. Alright, Lil C. I like you. You can stay.

Nigel just dissed everyone left. Nice, Nigel. I'm sure that makes everyone feel great.

Top 3 guys - Jazz: Yeah, Sonya! She's one of my fav choreographers. This dance sounds like it's going to be awesome.
That was SO weird, but I could not stop laughing and smiling throughout the whole thing. I pretty much am in love with that routine. I don't mind all the freaking filler during this show if it has routines like that.

Jeanine & Ade - Samba: I'm in love with Ade, I don't even know. Also...does anyone not really like the latin dances on this show? Even if they're fast and lively, I'm always kind of 'been there, done that' about them.
Oh hey, "LoveGame". Damn, they are rocking it! This is certainly sexy. I really like these two a lot. That was very, very good. Oh...the judges aren't liking it. I don't know anything about dance, heh.

Kayla -Solo: "You Found Me". Um....she's very twitchy. I didn't really like that very much. And I'm not just saying that because I don't want her in my Top 4, that was kind of a strange solo.

Melissa & Evan - Broadway: Wow, they sound so unenthusiastic talking about each other, heh. Oh, Broadway, this should be good for Evan.
Aw, that was super cute. I thought they danced it pretty well. I'm not sure about the choreography though. You know, the judges were pretty nice to Evan, but I sometimes think the show wants Evan gone. I don't know, it's just a feeling I've gotten. They never give him effusive praise and they tend to criticize him a lot. I think they can't get rid of him though, because his popularity has sort of gotten out of control. He might even win this whole dang show (which would be cool with me!)

Ade - Solo: So many contemporary dancers on this show. Aw, so good! I love you, Ade! Kris Allen has the same shirt as Ade....Um....the fact that I know that is really, really sad. What is my life?

Kayla & Brandon - Contemporary: LOL at these two being the two I don't want in my Top 4.
OMG the synchronization! OMFG that was beautiful! Hot damn. Amazing. Ok, ok, I don't even know anymore. That was so amazing, I want these two to be in the Top 4 now. I don't even know how to feel. I don't care who gets into the Top 4 anymore!

Melissa - Solo: Melissa, I love you girl, but you gotta show a little bit more in your solos. That was kind of boring. I think Melissa might be in the most danger tomorrow :/

Jeanine & Ade - Hip-Hop: Boxes. Oh, an apartment story. Say what you will about NappyTabs, they always have interesting storylines for their dances.
Hard hitting. Aw yay! That was really good! I used to think Evan was my favorite, but somehow, someway, Ade overtook that spot. I love him! Win this show, Ade!

Brandon - Solo: Holy crap, Brandon just Brought. It. Damn boy, THAT is how you make yourself stand out. Shit just got real, bitches! The audience is giving him a standing ovation. Nigel just said he gave one of the best solos they've seen on the show. Damn, Brandon. I take it back. I take it all back. You NEED to be in the Top 4. You maybe need to win the whole show. LOL I'm so schizophrenic.

Melissa & Evan - Quickstep: I don't like the quickstep that much :/ Ok, wait, maybe this show does want Evan to win. He's getting two routines right in his style.
Ah this was so much fun! One of my fav quicksteps I've ever seen on this show. Way better than their broadway. I liked it a lot. Judges aren't liking it that much. I know nothing about dance.

Jeanine - Solo: Again, kind of a boring solo. We want to see something new. Besides Brandon, no one is showing us something that we already didn't know that they could do.

Evan - Solo: Ok, so Evan didn't show us anything he couldn't do, but at least he isn't a contemporary dancer. That's why I always love his solos.

Brandon & Kayla - Disco: Oh, disco again :/
Whoa mama, that was fun. They were very good. So, do you guys think the show wants Brandon and Kayla in the top 4? They only gave them 2 of the best routines of the night. What the hell is Lil C talking about? Oh, uh, I guess Nigel pretty much just answered my question, didn't he? He so has it in the bag for these two, heh.

Top 3 Girls - Contemporary: Yeah, Sonya again! Rockin' the Bjork T-shirt!
That was power...Girl power! Yeah, I dug that. Pretty dang cool.

Overall opinions: I'M IN A GLASS CASE OF EMOOOOOOOTION!!!!!! I have no idea who is going home or who I want to go home or anything right now. I'm right back to not caring who wins, because I just don't know who I want to win anymore. Ok ok, wait, I am going to make a prediction on who is going home tomorrow. I have a big long, complicated reason that I just spent 10 minutes telling to Zozizzle (who only just got here for the last 10 minutes), but I'm not going to repeat it here because I'm lazy and it would take forever. So here it is, going home tomorrow: Melissa and Ade.

Comments from Zozizzle: I've only seen the last part of this episode, but I think, even though I only saw a snippet of the solos, Brandon should stay. Jeanine is my favorite girl. I really liked what I saw of her last week, so I think she should be in the Top 4. As far as the other 2 spots, I think anyone could make it. If Evan makes it into the Top 4, do you think he could win? I think he might be in over his head, but his fanbase could power him to the top. Overall, less Mary, more dancers = a happy Zozizzle.

Hey kids! It's an American Idol "rewatch": Motown Week Edition

This should be my last rewatch post, since it's the last episode that I hadn't originally watched when it aired. I don't think I'll be writing about any of the other weeks, since I started writing about this show the week after Motown week aka the magical week known as Top 9 week aka the week I became a Kris fan and he took over my life forever. Still, you never know :)

Once again, before this rewatch, I had seen Adam and Kris's performances via YouTube. Everyone else's was completely fresh. I totally love this episode because of Smokey Robinson. He was so cute!

* Matt Giraud - “Let’s Get it On” by Marvin Gaye
* Kris Allen - “How Sweet it Is” by Marvin Gaye
* Scott MacIntyre -”You Can’t Hurry Love” by The Supremes
* Megan Joy - “For Once In My Life” by Stevie Wonder
* Anoop Desai - “Ooh Baby Baby” by Smokey Robinson
* Michael Sarver - “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” by The Temptations
* Lil Rounds - “Heatwave” by Martha and the Vandellas
* Adam Lambert - “Tracks of My Tears” by Smokey Robinson
* Danny Gokey - “Get Ready” by The Temptations
* Allison Iraheta - “Papa Was a Rollling Stone” by The Temptations

I think this was one of Matt’s best performances. His voice sounded fantastic and he laid off the falsetto and the vibrato for the most part. I think I’m just now coming to the realization however that I don’t really like the tone of Matt’s voice. He sang this song perfectly, but I wasn’t blown away by it because I just don’t find his voice that pleasant to listen to. At least as far as his live performances are concerned. His studio versions tend to be a lot better.

Of course Kris had to go second. Why would I think otherwise? For some reason, “How Sweet it Is” is one of his performances I’ve watched the least, yet the studio version is one of the ones I’ve listened to the most. They’re both really different from each other, but I just LOVE his falsetto in the studio version. So pretty. This is not to say however that I don’t like his performance of “How Sweet it Is”. I think I just always kind of forget about it. But really, it’s another fun, adorable, and extremely creative performance. And actually, I think it has one of his best vocal performances. His voice sounds absolutely flawless, and I kind of am in love with that last note because of the adorable side jaw thing he does, and the fact that Anoop made fun of it on that one results night. I also love Smokey Robinson’s total fanboying over Kris (is it just me or did Smokey seem the most excited about Kris?), and Kris’s weird number shirt, which is probably the most “out there” thing he’s ever worn on the show.

Oh Scott, Scott, Scott…what are we going to do with you? Why do I love you so much even when you sound terrible?

Megan is so fucking hot. Her outfit this week is my favorite outfit worn by anyone during the whole season. Too bad her performance sucked so bad. Yikes.

I do like when Anoop does his ballad thing, but I was surprised at how much I didn’t really like his performance this week. I thought it was kind of pitchy and boring. I think Anoop has a really beautiful, gorgeous, smooth voice, but the problem is, it’s not very unique at all. I tend to forget about his performances a lot because of it.

Is it wrong that I actually think that Scott and Megan’s performances were worse than Michael’s? I don’t think Michael was ever that bad. He really never had any train-wreck performances, and I think he does have a pretty nice voice. Do I think he should have lasted longer? Not really. Like Simon said, he wasn’t terrible, he just wasn’t good enough.

So…Lil’s always been bad, huh? Besides her semi-finals performance, I haven’t liked a single Lil performance during the entire competition. Normally I start watching her performances and then end up fast forwarding through them.

“Tracks of My Tears” is my favorite Adam performance of the whole competition. Amazing. That’s all I can say about it. I love it so much.

Besides Danny Gokey’s existence, what makes his performance so awkward to watch is that he didn’t follow Smokey’s advice at all even though he said he was going to. Douche. Also, besides Paula (Danny’s biggest fan), tepid response from the judges tonight (especially Simon). Strange.

Allison’s voice is amazing. Amazing. But…if there is one criticism for her, it’s that her enunciation is terrible. I couldn’t even understand the majority of what she was singing this week, heh. Doesn’t really matter though of course because it’s just so goddamn impressive listening to her sing.

True Blood 2.06 "Hard-Hearted Hannah"

Oh shi- things are finally starting to happen on this show! After a couple of weeks of boring, we're finally getting to the action. And I'm loving it! Give me the crazy, cheesy goodness please! I don't watch this show for the dialogue.

I knew there was something up with Daphne! I knew it! As soon as Andy recognized her as Maryann's pig I was like 'aw no, Sam'. Not gonna lie, the end of this episode almost made me crap my pants! Saaaaaaaam! I'm so scared. I actually think this was one of the most suspenseful parts of the whole series. I'm really really excited to see what happens with it next week. I knew Maryann and Daphne were up to no good!

I never thought I would feel sympathetic towards Sarah Newlin, but I liked that she wasn't as gung-ho about what her husband is doing as I originally thought. I still think her seducing Jason and doing him in the church is messed up beyond belief, but I'm just glad that she isn't as crazy as her husband.

Eric, Jason, and Eggs are extremely hot. Thank you, Show!

Another cheesy flashback! This show loves them! I loved last week's, but this one....Not only do I really not like Lorena and her horrible accent, but the scene with her and Bill having sex in all the blood was the most disturbing thing that I've ever seen on this show. And that's saying a lot, because there has been some disturbing shit on this show.

Jessica/Hoyt! Yay! I say this every week, but I freaking LOVE those two so much. They are so adorable and precious. I just want to hug Hoyt. What a good boyfriend he is. Sigh.

Sookie. Oh Sookie. I know there really wasn't anything she could have done, but their whole plan really wasn't set up that well. I have to hand it to the show though, the scene where Steve shows them the basement and Sookie and Hugo realize what's about to happen to them was really well done and suspenseful, and I'm excited to see where that leads. Do we assume that Godric's also in the basement?

Oh hey, orgy scene. That was extremely disturbing. Just another example of a time that I'm really really happy I wasn't watching this show with my little brother in the room, like I did a few weeks ago. Yeah...

Alright, True Blood! Keep it up!

So You Think You Can Dance: Top 8 Perform

Ellen is a guest judge! Yes! Hopefully she can counteract the terribleness of all of the other judges.

Group number to "Let it Rock". Um...what the hell are they wearing? That was cool though. This show still has ridiculous amounts of filler.

Evan & Janette - Jazz: This is freaky and weird like all of Sonya's routines. Oh wow, they are really well synchronized. Ah, I liked this. I don't know if it was necessarily the best routine, but it was enjoyable.

Kayla - Solo: Props for using an Imogen Heap song. I still don't really care much for her though.

Brandon & Jeanine - Waltz: "May It Be"! Fuck yeah, LOTR! Why not the Enya version though? Ahem...anyhoo, that was ridiculously smooth. I can never judge these types of dances that well though, because I find them kind of boring.

Jason - Solo: Oh Taking Back Sunday! Yeah! I can't help it, Jason is so adorable that I like every thing he does. I really do think he's a good dancer though, and that this was a strong solo.

Melissa & Ade - Cha Cha: Holy crap! Move those hips, Ade! Mmmm they were sexy! I liked it. I love these two together.

Janette - Solo: That was pretty good. She still does not excite me in the slightest though. Why do I dislike the majority of the girls on this show?

Jason & Kayla - Broadway: Aw, yeah I liked this. Jason is really charismatic. I'm proud of him actually. I think he was really good here. Stole the spotlight from Kayla, although she was very good too.

Ade - Solo: I. Love. Him. He's so good! When did he become one of my favorites? I love him so much!

Janette & Evan - Rumba: Kris 'your muthafucking American Idol' Allen's version of "Heartless" for this dance, bitches! MOTHERFUCKING YES! Ok, so this dance was really slow and kind of weird and I have no idea if it was any good, but I'm so ridiculously happy to hear Kris on my TV again that I don't care. Yay Kris!

Melissa - Solo: Hello 80s. Um, that was weird. Which makes me upset because she's my favorite girl left. Please don't get eliminated this week.

Brandon & Jeanine - Hip-Hop: Again, they are ridiculously synchronized. They are awesome! I really liked this dance a lot. Super cool! One of the better ones of the night.

Evan - Solo: Oh no, he dropped his hat! Aw, it's ok, he recovered well and was still really good. I love him a lot.

Jeanine - Solo: Holy crap, this is the first time I've really been blown away by her dancing. I think she might of had the best solo of the night. I think...I think I finally like her now. Yay!

Melissa & Ada - Contemporary: Story is a women who has breast cancer. Uh oh. They're trying to pull on the heart strings. Oh wow, that was really good. They were amazing. Holy crap, everyone is crying. No, seriously, everyone in the studio is crying. EVERYONE'S IN A GLASS CASE OF EMOTION!

Brandon- Solo: He's such a powerful dancer. His solos are always so explosive. He's great.

Jason & Kayla - Hip-Hop: Zombie dance! Yes! THIS WAS AWESOME! I loved this so much! Maybe my favorite routine of the night. I can't even say how cool I thought this was. Look that shit up on YouTube right now.

I have absolutely no idea who's going home tomorrow. I thought the night was suitably 'meh' overall, with a few exceptions. I'm thinking Evan is in trouble based on his dances, but he's really popular and I think that could keep him safe. I know Jason and Ade had been in trouble before, but they were both in the two best routines of the night. Maybe Brandon's in danger? I was thinking Melissa was in danger, but after her Contemporary, I'm not so sure anymore. I'm really hoping it'll be Janette or Kayla, but Janette's really popular and Kayla was in the awesome Zombie routine. So basically I have no flipping idea, heh. What do I care anyways? I don't vote!

Hey kids! It's an American Idol "rewatch": Country Week Edition

I know you're all sick of me talking about American Idol. I, however, am not sick of me talking about American Idol...and I'm not really sure when I'll be, heh. Please feel free to skip this post at your leisure.

It's rewatch time! Country week! I'm pretty sure I didn't watch any of this episode when it originally aired. I had, however, already watched Kris and Adam's performances on YouTube before this rewatch.

Anyhoo, here are the performances:
# Michael Sarver -”Ain’t Goin’ Down Til the Sun Comes Up” by Garth Brooks
# Allison Iraheta - “Blame it on Your Heart” by Patty Loveless
# Kris Allen - “To Make You Feel My Love” by Garth Brooks
# Lil Rounds - “Independence Day” by Martina McBride
# Adam Lambert - “Ring of Fire” by Johnny Cash
# Scott MacIntyre - “Wild Angels” by Martina McBride
# Alexis Grace - “Jolene” by Dolly Parton
# Danny Gokey - “Jesus Take the Wheel” by Carrie Underwood
# Anoop Desai - “You Were Always on My Mind” by Willie Nelson
# Megan Joy Corkrey - “Walking After Midnight” by Patsy Cline
# Matt Giraud - “So Small” by Carrie Underwood

While it was still pretty darn good, this wasn’t my favorite Allison performance, but jeez could she be more adorable? The little dance she did for Randy Travis? God, I love her so much. I also spent the entire time thinking about how much I covet her hair and outfit. Girl is hot! I can’t believe she was in the bottom 3 for this week :/

Damn, but Kris and Allison get paired up a lot, don’t they? Makes sense if you think about it…

I know Kris has said that he wasn’t a secret ~stealth contestant, strategizing all the time, but I kind of don’t believe him. Because this week, like many other weeks, was another example of him doing the exact perfect thing he needed to do. The boy clearly knew what was up. I have to point out the fact that this was the only time….let me repeat, THE ONLY FUCKING TIME, that a judge told Kris he had a shot of doing well in the competition. The judge was Simon, who genuinely seemed pretty shocked at his positive reaction to Kris’s performance (it’s probably my favorite judges feedback Kris received during the whole competition). It is still kind of astounding to me that this was the one time he ever got such feedback, but I’ll just ignore my bitterness and bask in the wonderfulness of “To Make You Feel My Love”. Because seriously? Gorgeous. I still kind of can’t believe how good his voice sounds on this song. If I had seen this performance when it actually aired, I think I may have just become a full-blown Kris fan right then and there. Sigh.

I just skip Lil’s performances. I’m terrible.

I…still don’t know what to do with “Ring of Fire”. I like that Adam took risks, and I even think that the arrangement of the song is pretty cool, but the performance….I don’t even know. I still kind of just sit there slack-jawed every time I watch it, and then kind of nervously giggle after it’s over. Adam just has that effect on people I guess.

Scott makes me so happy. Just…Scott! Every time I see him I smile. I kind of think he has a terrible voice, and he probably only made it as far as he did because he’s blind, but he’s just so funny! I kind of can’t wait to see him on tour.

Alexis picks the best songs. And actually, I was expecting her to sound worse because it was her elimination week, but I didn’t think she sounded too bad. There were certainly people who were worse than her this week (like Michael on whatever stupid song he sang). Still, I don’t really like her personality. She’s got a lot of attitude and comes across kind of annoying to be honest.

Danny has a good voice but is a terrible singer. Terrible. He’s either breathy and pitchy when he’s singing softly, or he’s shouting as loudly as he can. There’s no middle ground with him. Which makes all of his performances sound-alike and unsubtle and icky. He was not "brilliant" either, Paula jeez.

‘Noop was good this week. His voice is so pretty, if a little bit boring.

I’m pretty sure this was the best Megan performance of the whole competition. I legit think she sounded kind of really good and cool here. She has a very interesting voice. She often flounders in her live performances, but this week’s was nice.

This was Matt’s best performance ever. If Matt had been able to sustain this level over the whole competition he would have gone way further. I actually just went and downloaded his studio recording because I liked this performance so much. I feel really happy for him watching this, yet at the same time kind of frustrated because I don’t think he ever matched this performance.

President Roslin returns to the screen RIGHT... NOW!!

Yes, I have been absent for many moons (my apologies). Yes, this post is sudden. But, truth be told, I couldn't bear to be away from the blog a minute longer...AND...more importantly, Mary McDonnell is on tonight's episode of The Closer RIGHT NOW. As in, this very second! Tonight, our beloved BSG President Roslin appears a 2nd time on the series as 'by-the-book' Captain Raydor, whose strong personality clashes with that of Kyra Sedgwick's Chief Brenda Johnson. Even if you're not a fan of this show, I'd suggest just watching tonight (er...right now) just to fill in the huge gaping void that is TV sans Battlestar.

Should you watch, all I have to say is...brace yourself for the BAMFness--I've only been watching the episode for 10 minutes, and, true to form, McDonnell is great as usual. Oh, RoslinBAMF!, I have missed you. Glad to see you back. Come back on more random shows...please? My summer crime-procedural-saturated TV lineup is boring otherwise...

I know I'm the only one who cares about this, but...

Sean Bean was cast as Ned Stark in the "Game of Thrones" pilot!

YES! I mentioned it once before on this blog, but I LOVE these books so much and am ecstatic that they're making it into a TV show. And Sean Bean?! As Ned?! Holy effin crap this is going to be amazing. Not to mention Tyrion is going to be played by Peter Dinklage! *squee* I'm so excited. I'm even excited about Mark Addy for Robert, because I loved him in A Knight's Tale and I think this is absolutely brilliant casting. The unknown who's playing Jon also looks fantastic!

OMG I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS SHOW EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASFJ;ADLSSALASL;DKFJDJKF!!!!!!!!!!1111

True Blood 2.05 "Never Let Me Go"

I didn't write about last week's episode. Sorry about my life.

This week's episode was kind of boring. A little slow and lots of set-up, but still had some good stuff in there.

I do not care for Sookie/Bill. I've said this multiple times, but uh, yeah, they bore me. I kind of tuned out every time they had a lovey dovey scene together (which was a lot this episode). I was also extremely grateful they cut away from their love scene. Do not need anymore of that.

Jessica/Hoyt! Jessica/Hoyt! How are they so adorable? Why do I like them together so much? Yay!

Somehow Eric speaking Swedish makes him 10 times hotter.

Oh cheesy flashback scenes, how I love you. Actually, I really did love this scene a lot. Of course, I love me some Eric so I appreciated it regardless, but I'm very intrigued by this Godric fellow. Very intrigued. Hm...

So Sookie found another telepath and Sam found another shifter. What is the significance of all this? I like that Sam was so happy, but I do not trust Daphne for a minute. Girl is up to something.

Jason is hot.

I love Maryann. That is all.

Hell yeah, Flight of the Conchords!

Emmy nominations are out today.

Reason #2034 why the Emmys suck: House got nominated for best Drama over Battlestar Galactica. What? Actually, BSG didn't get nominated for ANY of the major awards. Your argument is invalid, Emmys.

At least True Blood didn't get nominated for anything though, heh.

I'm a little underwhelmed overall, but YAY for:
Flight of the Conchords
The Office
Jemaine Clement
Jack McBrayer
Rainn Wilson
Kristin Chenoweth
Lost
Michael Emerson
And uh, I guess I'm rooting for American Idol this year ;)

For the love of....

So this past weekend my brother watched the Harry Potter films he hadn't seen (2-5) and of course I decided to watch them, cause face it they're great films! Besides being entertaining I had a thought and decided it'd be great to share since today the sixth film came out!

During The Prisoner of Azkaban I thought that Harry, Hermaine and Ron get to do everything! Mostly Harry does the work but think about all the great adventures that happen during their years at Hogwarths the trio was there. So my question is are you a Harry or just another classmate afraid to take adventures and get into a bit of trouble? It may not be the same craziness that is Harry's world but there is always the possibility that it could be more fun!

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Review

I actually was able to see this movie yesterday at an early screening (and by early, I mean like, 3 hours early, heh), but wasn't able to write this review until today. Mostly because I was just too darn excited! I love Harry Potter. Love the books, love the movies, love everything about them. I had to physically calm myself down last night I was so excited to see this movie. So...this review is going to be hard because I pretty much just want to type AASLDKJFASDLKJFSALD;JFALSJF;SALDFJ over and over again for everything. I'll try to stay coherent, but I think this review might get a bit fangirly, heh.

There be spoilers ahead!

First, I thought the adaptation as a whole was great. When you get down to it, it was really quite faithful to the book. There weren't changes so much as omissions. The removal of the memories of the Gaunts and some of the Horcruxes seem like things that could be brought up in the 7th movie if they need be, so it didn't bother me that much. There were times when I thought the ending was a bit rushed-- I would have liked to have seen the Death Eaters fight in Hogwarts. I also wish the last conversation between Snape and Harry had been longer like in the book, and I was kind of dissapointed the funeral wasn't in there. BUT having said all that, I wouldn't have changed anything that was in the movie.

As a film, I thought it held together remarkably well. I liked the 5th movie a lot, so I really like David Yates and what he's brought to the franchise. He brings a kind of sophistication to these movies that some of the earlier ones lacked. There were many times during the film where I found myself on the edge of my seat, and I think it's Yates's ability to build the tension that had me so absorbed in the movie, even when I knew what was about to happen! Of course, the cinematography was also dark and moody and perfect, and the special effects were, once again, fantastic.

The biggest joy in the movie for me, was the acting. Dear lord, do I love the actors in this movie. Of the younger actors, Rupert Grint is my favorite. The guy is so funny and charismatic and has a great future ahead of him! I love him. I've always been highly impressed with Daniel Radcliffe, and I was surprised by how blown away I was with Emma Watson. I've given that girl a lot of flack in the other movies, but her crying scene in this movie was the best I've ever seen her act, and was one of my favorite scenes in the whole movie because of it. You go, Emma! Sorry I ever doubted you! It was Tom Felton as Draco however that really left the biggest impression with me. I absolutely hate Draco in the books, but felt so unbelievably bad for him this movie, because Tom makes him feel so much more human. During the final confrontation, you could feel his pain so much that he made me cry. I'm really looking forward to what he's going to do in the next movie.

As far as the adult actors go, nothing, and I mean nothing, can top Alan Rickman. He. Is. Amazing. I actually just sat here for like 10 minutes trying to think of things to type about him, but couldn't because there are no words that can describe how amazing he is. He is beyond scrumtrelescent. He is a God amongst men, and we are the mere mortals who do not deserve to be in his presence. I sound like a crazy person right now, but seriously! I am in love with this man and what he does with the Snape character! Gosh!

I've always liked Michael Gambon as Dumbledore, but have sort of understood where the haters were coming from with him. No longer. He was perfect in this movie. Absolutely perfect. Book confession time: I never really liked Dumbledore and didn't cry when he died. Movie confession time: From the moment Harry meets Dumbledore on the astronomy tower before they apparate to the end of the movie, I cried my eyes out because of knowing Dumbledore's fate. Gambon gave Dumbledore just the right amount of compassion and quirkiness that I was dreading every step closer to his death. Haters to the left, people! New Dumbledore is awesome!

Jim Broadbent was also really great as Professor Slughorn. Very funny, but also very sad and insecure. The scene in Hagrid's hut was a perfect demonstration of this, with him falling all over himself drunk one minute, to making me tear up a little bit with his story about Lily the next. Harry Potter really really lucks out with these older British actors.

Also shout out to Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix who is absolutely awesome, and actually makes me sort of want to root for the bad guys. I also thought the girl who played Lavender was hilarious, and an awesome find. The two kids who played the different Tom Riddle's were fantastic and so so creepy, and made both their scenes downright chilling. Last but not least, huge props to Evanna Lynch, who freaking is Luna Lovegood. You cannot convince me otherwise.

And here's where I get a bit fangirly: This movie was a Ron/Hermione shippers dream! Luckily for me, I'm a huge one so I spent a fair amount of the movie squeeing into my fists from excitement! Ah I love those two, and there was sexual tension galore in this movie. Sometimes it felt like even more than in the book! It made me very happy. Also, Lupin/Tonks what? I'm not a huge shipper of the two (although I do like them together), but I LOVE me some Lupin and was very surprised that they kept in the fact that those two were a couple. Movie needed more Lupin though.

Ah, there was more I wanted to say, but I forgot. I suck at movie reviews, but I hope you leave this post with a crazy strong desire to Go. See. This. Movie...NOW!

So You Think You Can Dance: Top 10 Perform

I still haven't watched the new True Blood from this week. FML

It's. Your. Top. Ten. Not gonna lie, I almost didn't even want to watch until the Top 10, because this is when the good stuff starts. And no more judges power! Yay!

Cat Deely is an Amazon Goddess. I'm still not over how perfect she is.

They do group numbers now? Have they always done that? Are we supposed to judge them on these group numbers? I'm not going to write about them, because I'm lazy. Ok, well actually, I will say that this Bollywood number was pretty cool. Why does Kayla still bug me though? She's the only girl left who I don't really like. Why are the judges judging this right now? OMG I like this show, but jeez does it have a lot of filler. Whoa why am I being such a bitch tonight? I'm sorry. Nigel, stop being creepy.

Kayla and Evan - Vienesse Waltz: Oh fuck. Evan, you are paired with my least favorite dancer. LOL at the height difference. This is kind of hilarious.
Hell yeah, "Kiss From A Rose"! Aw, that was nice. Very smooth. They had some really cool lifts in there. OMG Kayla's wearing flats and Evan's wearing lifts. That's hilarious.

Brandon - Solo: This guy is amazing. He has so much power when he dances. I really like him.

Janette and Ade - Hip-Hop: Oooh this could be a really good pairing.
Really really cool. I loved the beginning with him "funking" her up. I thought they weren't synchronized very well sometimes and Ade was better than Janette, but it was really really fun to watch. Dear lord I hate the judges. I just...do not have time for this shit right now. Does anyone who watches this show like the judges? Anyone?

Randi - Solo: I've always liked Randi. She's cute. And she danced her solo well. Yay Randi!

Kupono - Solo: Yes! This is why I like Kupono. Because he's different. He doesn't dance like anyone left. He's just like Mark! Maaaarrrrkkkk!!!! (No, I will never get over Mark)

Jeanine and Jason - Contemporary: I didn't watch Season 2, so I don't really know Travis, although I have heard of him. Jason, you are still my underdog favorite!
OMG they were beautiful! That routine was AWESOME! I loved the stuff with the necklace. Holy friggin crap that was amazing. Like, one of the best routines of the whole season, if not the best. Am I being too complementary? I don't even know. You guys, that was fucking awesome! Go look that shit up on YouTube or something. Goddamn.

Melissa - Solo: Love you, Melissa! She's a very graceful dancer. Beautiful.

Evan - Solo: Ah Evan! So presh! Evan sometimes struggles with other styles, but he's SO good in his own style. I love him.

Kayla - Solo: I said I'm not a huge fan of Kayla, but it's not because she's a bad dancer. She's actually a really really great dancer, and her solo was very good. She just kind of rubs me the wrong way, and she's been overpimped.

Kupono and Randi - Paso Doble: Oooh I really like these two seperately so I hope they're good together.
Whoa there Randi in a wig. This is intense. I feel like I'm going to have a seizure with this strobe light. Eh. Not the best. They were a little choppy. Did he purposely drop her at the end? Yeah, not so good. That makes me sad.

Ade - Solo: Have I mentioned lately that I love Ade? He's one of my favs. Him and Brandon dance very similarly though.

Jeanine - Solo: That was fine. I'm not crazy about Jeanine, but she is a good dancer I guess.

Jason- Solo: Heh, that was quirky! That's why I like him too! He's different and adorable and omg I think he's starting to become my favorite.

Melissa and Brandon - Broadway: I kind of still wish Melissa was with Ade.
Aquarius! This will always remind me of The 40 Year Old Virgin, heh. Whoo trippy! Ah this was so cool! I loved this. It was different and well-danced and awesome! Yay!

Janette - Solo: She's a good dancer. She doesn't realy excite me though, but yeah, she's good.

Guy's group dance number. They're doing an African dance. Oh Evan is going to be so awkward in this. Wow that was good. Loved it.

So, overall, I still cannot get over Jason and Jeanine's Contemporary. That was pure amazingness right there. Not sure who's going home, but I think Randi and Kupono had the worst routine of the night. I kind of don't want anyone to go home, heh.

So You Think You Can Dance: Top 12 Perform

I'm currently on pain killers. This review could prove interesting.

They're doing two routines tonight? Ugh this show is so long.

Melissa and Ade
Disco: Seriously, why disco? Why?
They're both really good and this routine is cool, but I don't particularly ever feel the need to watch disco, thanks. Holy crap, these lifts are insane! LOL she fell at the end. Aw, I love this couple. I want them to go really far!
Waltz: Very nice. I just find waltzes boring so I'm not like, crazy about it. Don't care though because I love these two a lot. They better make it into the top 10.

Kayla and Kupono
Contemporary: Uh oh, a Mia Michaels contemporary. This should be good. Kupono is amazing...I really like this guy.
Goosebumps. Wow. Just, wow. The choreography was awesome, but they also danced it absolutely perfectly.
Broadway: West Side Story! Oh hell yes! Is it just me or were they actually doing some of the steps from that West Side Story scene? I LOVED this so much! It could just be because West Side Story is one of my favorite movies of all time, but I really thought this was a nice routine. Shut up, Nigel! I'm um, disagreeing with the judges here. I guess I don't know what I'm talking about.

Caitlin and Jason
Foxtrot: They were good, but kind of boring. And I can't really blame them, but the style they chose. I always think that Jason is better than Caitlin.
Lyrical Jazz: These two are incredibly synchronized, and I really liked this. Very smooth and pretty. Kind of boring again though.

Phillip and Jeanine
Russian folk: Ummmmm...it's cool that they keep adding new dances to this show, but uh, this was a hot mess. Phillip was not so good here, but I can't really blame him, because this is such a random, off-the-wall style. I didn't like that so much.
Jive: Much better than their first one. Jeanine is way better than Phillip. She was great this routine. The judges always give Phillip a pass for dancing poorly in styles that aren't his own. Why? I don't get it. *mumble*chosenones*mumble*

Randi and Evan
Hip-Hop: Aw, that was super cute. I love this couple! They just always look so happy all the time together. I love this kind of "nice and fluffy" hip-hop they sometimes do on this show.
Samba: No! I don't want them to be seperated! They're my favorite couple. Pasha! OMG Pasha! I freaking loved Pasha! He should have won his season...he's so dreamy.
Whoa that lift at the beginning was ridiculous. Aw, that was great! Ah see, Nigel criticized Evan for struggling out of his style, but didn't do the same for Phillip. I'm on to you Uncle Nigel...I know you learned how to judge from Simon Cowell.

Brandon and Jeanette
Argentine Tango: Sexy. Even if I found the routine a little boring, they both were fantastic in it. I think these two might be some of the best dancers left. Nigel gave them a slow clap. I love slow claps. Nigel has it in the bag for these two SO much.
Jazz: Wade! Yes!
Crap, I can't stop smiling! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! I'm turning into Mary Murphy! That was SO good! I love them! Best routine of the night!

Overall, like I said, Brandon and Jeanette's Jazz was the best of the night, but my second favorite was Kayla and Kupono's Contemporary. I think that Phillip and Jeanine could be in trouble because of that weird Russian dance they had to do, but I'm starting to get the feeling that Caitlin and Jason are not among the frontrunners on this show, and therefore if they wind up in the bottom will probably be going home. We shall see...

Things that are making me LOL

  • MyLifeIsAverage - Much funnier than FML. I have a really weird sense of humor
  • ontd_ai - A cracktastic American Idol LJ community. This place is HYSTERICAL! I spend far too much time here than I should
  • Kris Allen on Twitter - Follow him! He hasn't had it for too long, but he tweets pretty frequently and is absolutely adorable and kind of hilarious. He's also following Adam, Allison, Matt, and Anoop. Follow them too! (Yes, I did get a Twitter solely for the purpose of stalking Kris Allen. Don't judge me!)
Things that are not making me LOL:
  • Vitolio and Karla got eliminated on So You Think You Can Dance. I don't really care that much about Karla, but VITOLIO! Vitolioooooooooooooo!!!!!! I will miss his dorky enthusiasm! (we were so close to getting rid of 2 of my 3 least favs, Kayla, Phillip, and Jeanine, too!)
  • I can't believe I'm saying this, but why do I have to wait until August 26th for the American Idol Live Tour?! Especially because it's starting this Sunday (OMG SO EXCITED!) and I now know what Kris and Adam and Allison's sets entail and they're all going to be so awesome and I don't want to wait! God, I'm such a loser...

So You Think You Can Dance: Top 14 Perform

I was unable to watch last week's show, but I did see who was eliminated and I'm pissed. Actually I've been pissed the last 2 episodes with who's gone home. Granted, I do like a large amount of people left, but the one's who I don't like keep staying around :( How could they deprive me of the awesome Max and adorable Jonathan? Sigh. This is why I hate giving the judges so much power.

Whatevs, I'm over it...

I can't tell any of the girls apart. I don't know what this says about me...Ok, yeah, I know exactly what it says about me, heh.

Mia Michaels is such a crazy bitch! I think I kind of love her.

Janette and Brandon - Cha Cha: So much filler, oh lord. Why am I not Tivoing this? I love this latin ballroom choreographer. I don't remember his name, but I love him.
Loved. This. Performance. Holy crap that was so good! That was so good, Nigel is turning into Mary right now, heh. This couple is kind of amazing. OMG Brandon is crying...dammit now I feel like crying! THIS WHOLE THING IS SO FREAKING EMOTIONAL! I need to go like, calm down right now or something, hot damn, heh.

Kayla and Kupono - Contemporary: I loved Ashley and Max :( Kupono is adorable! I like him so much. Sonya's choreographed a routine about vampires. I am not surprised by this fact.
Weird, but cool. They are both really really good dancers. I loved all the synchronized parts. Don't mention Twilight, Nigel. Oh hey, the mentioned Mark! Love!

Randi and Evan - Broadway: Yay most adorable couple! Whoa...I missed the butt dance last week. That strangely makes me dissapointed. This choreographer is really tall.
Ooooh, I really liked this. It was different and made me smile. Aw, why are they getting down on Evan? I thought he did great. I'm really disagreeing with the judges here. Hm...

Jason and Caitlin - Pop Jazz: Aw poor Caitlin and Jason being in the bottom so much. I've always liked Jason, but I'm still making up my mind about Caitlin. Yes! Aliens! I love the weird ass routines they do on this show!
Whoa. Just...whoa. That was SO weird, but...awesome! So cool. I loved it. Nigel just said "dancing condom". I...have no comment for that, heh.

Phillip and Jeanine - Hip-Hop: I don't know why, but I think they're my least favorite couple. Not that I dislike them or think they're bad or anything, they're just...my least favorite couple heh. I still like them though! Ooooh chained together...this has the potential to be really cool. Extra points for the Kanye song.
Cool! I liked this routine too! What's with all the double entendres this episode though, heh?

Melissa and Ade - Pas de deux: "What a difference Ade makes"? Really Nigel? Ack I like these two a lot.
Holy crap Melissa is amazing. Holy crap Ade is also kind of amazing. Aw my gawd they were really good. Just gorgeous. I LOVE these two!

~Charity interlude~ Random Katie Holmes is random. I knew there wasn't enough content for 2 full hours. This show enjoys filler. Inspirational filler, but filler nonetheless. Oh hey, Paula Abdul! I never thought I would say this, but I miss Paula...Debbie Allen is always so profound. She's a pretty cool lady. lol about noone being excited about Katie Holmes dancing. Since when has she been a dancer anyways? Did I miss something?

Karla and Vitolio - Quickstep: I think I'm in love with Vitolio. Oh hey Jonathan, you cutie pie! Aw, them replaying the "Falling Slowly" dance makes me so sad, because it was when I picked Jonathan and Karla as my underdog favorites. I miss Asuka too :( Anyhoo, moving on...
Whoa! Her dress just changed! How the hell? So cool! I thought they were both really good! Vitolio was kind of awesome here. OMG stop being so adorable, Vitolio!

Ok, so, did anyone realize that I said I liked every single one of these performances? heh. I'm too easy I guess. But seriously, this was a really really good show. I have to say though, when watching the recap at the end, I think my favorite was Janette and Brandon. But I liked everyone else too! Tomorrow night is going to be tough!
