So last week, Accidentally on Purpose aired on CBS. In my true opinion I'd say it has a chance of lasting. It's actually quite amusing and has potential for a gathering a serious following. At first glance you could sum it up as a television version of Knocked Up (with Seth Rogen and Katherine Hiegl). Stories involving guys and girls always start with two possibilities: Either the guy meets girl and pines over her until some insane plan works out. Or girl lost guy and wants him back. And that's how this story began.
Essentially Bobbie meets Zach after attempting to make James want her back at a club. After a few drinks and his massive charm, she ends up back at his place. What was meant to be a one night turns into him becoming her boy toy. Well as she puts it she breaks her toy upon discovering that she's pregnant. Though she gives him an out he chooses to be involved. Here's where it gets fun, after a series of events he basically has no place to live so they decide to live together. Check this immature boy (he's younger than her) meets immaculate apartment plus established film critic, leads to a fridge door being taken off the handles, needs to establish sexual boundaries and of course a sweet scene that involves him painting a nurse purple because pink+blue equals purple! And unforgettably the almost fight between Zach and James--what is it with guys and the need to claim territory even when the girl is less than interested in that. Anyways for a Pilot, I'd say it did a good job of setting of who the characters are, their motivations and their stumbling blocks.
