Adam Lambert's New Single, "For Your Entertainment"

STFU Glamberts! It's totally possible to like both Adam AND Kris. Shocking, I know, but I really do love Adam a lot and am super happy, because I'm really liking his new single!

It's very dance/pop/electronica/techno/Lady Gaga-ish. I can totally imagine myself freak dancing to this in a club (if I was the kind of person who frequented clubs). I admit to originally being a little worried, because the direction Adam was going in isn't really my kind of music, but I really like this, so yay! His album comes out November 23rd! Look at that, I like all of Kradison's singles a lot. Best Top 3 ever! (Gokey who?)

What do you guys think? (and yes, that is really Adam's album cover lol)

You Got Me

So as a result of true and utter disappointment with seasons 2 and 3 of Heroes--which I never finished--I tossed that show to the wayside. But now they're bringing Charlie back and I may just break. Besides I've been hearing that the writing is pretty impressive this season. So NBC, you may have me in your clutches once again:

Darn Hulu!

Don't worry, this isn't a Kris Allen post

Except for how it totally is. Anyone who wonders, 'hey, why does she always talk about that Kris Allen guy all the time?', watch this. This performance is one of the many reasons why I love this guy:

And if you're interested in hearing 3 new songs he premiered off of his new album at the Dolphins Tailgate thingy this weekend, go here. I'll just say this, I knew I was going to like his album, b/c I'm a crazy fan and I love everything he's ever done, but I really genuinely love these songs and think they're really good. You have no idea how happy this fact makes me. Yay Kris!

Mad Men 3.11 "The Gypsy and the Hobo"

Before I get to anything, can I just say that the last line of the episode coupled with the look on Don's face coupled with the abrupt ending literally made me gasp aloud. I gasped aloud, shouted 'no!', and then started crying. This is what this show devolves me to.

And I'm not going to really go into this episode at all. I'm not going to talk about Joan or Sterling or anything else. I really just need to talk about Don and Betty. Because the scene where Betty finally confronts Don about his past is one of the best scenes this show has ever done. I have always had a love/hate relationship with Don, but Jon Hamm has always been amazing, and I have never felt it more than in this scene. Don is always so in control all time, that to see him so vulnerable, so lost, so....weak, was completely jarring, and Jon Hamm sold the hell out of all of his scenes. The stuff with Don's brother has always been so upsetting to me, and when Don started crying, I was close to bawling. There was so much emotion packed into every scene, I felt like I couldn't breathe.

Will I talk about this episode more later? Perhaps. Right now I had to get down my feelings about certain things, because I still cannot believe how amazing this show is. How is it so good? I thank God I started watching, because it truly is the best show on television.

Mad Men 3.10 "The Color Blue"

Because I'm kind of embarrassed that my flaily Kris Allen post is the only one that's been posted on here in a while, have a Mad Men post!

Yeah, not coherent again (read Master Sepinwall instead), so here's a bullet point list:

  • Peggy! She. Is. Amazing. I could not stop saying 'You go, girl!' Her being so awesome and amazing though....setting up a departure to Duck's company where her talents will be more appreciated, perhaps? Hmm....
  • I missed Pete. I also missed Joan and Sal. Saaaaaaaal!!!! Will we ever see him again?
  • How do we feel about Miss Farrell? She seems like a nice lady, but I just hate how close she seems with Don all of a sudden. I feel like her story line with Don is a bit of a retread of all the other times Don's cheated. It's annoying. I am not happy with Don right now.
  • Have I ever mentioned that I love Pryce? I could just listen to him talk all day. His accent is fantastic. Also, I just like him. He's a good guy.
  • These British guys though! They're going to sell Sterling Cooper? What does that mean? What's going to happen? I'm concerned.
  • Paul lol. I love all of the guys who work at SC. Paul, Ken, Harry, they makes this show what it is, and I love when each one gets a chance to shine. Or not shine in Paul's case, heh.
  • Silver Fox (Sterling) used to be one of my favorite characters. What happened? He's so bitter now. It was Jane, wasn't it?
  • Ok, can't hold it in any longer....BETTY SLZKFJD;LSADJFOWAIEJRSKLNCVSDF OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG. OH. MY. GOD. Those were the exact noises I was making when she was looking through the box. Holy crap. This is big stuff. This is HUGE. Poor Betty. And she had to go with Don to the party too and act like everything was fine. I have no idea what's going to happen. I'm so scared. Oh my god...
I can't believe there are only 3 episodes left!

This post has no point except as an excuse for me to flail. Zozizzle and Good Grief, NO COMPLAINING about this post! If you aren't going to post to the blog, then I'm going to make pointless posts about hot Kris Allen pictures, and you're going to LIKE IT!

Are you ready for this?

Jim and Pam's wedding is tonight! Something that this show has been building up to since, well, since it started. I was talking with Zozizzle a couple of nights ago and came to the conclusion that Jim and Pam are my favorite OTP. I have never been this invested in a fictional couple before in my entire life, and never have I seen a show handle a couple this well. Every new step in their relationship people would be worried that the show would mess it up: they're dragging it out too long, they got together too soon, they're gonna add unnecessary problems, a baby is going to screw up the relationship, etc., etc. I can honestly say though, none of these problems have come to pass. Jim and Pam have been perfection since the first time we saw Jim flirting with her at reception.

Last year I made my "Top 10 Jim/Pam Moments" list. It's a little outdated now. The engagement scene I think ranks at the Number 2 moment, but the "I'm in love with you" scene will always be Number 1. Always. That is one of my favorite scenes of anything ever. Feel free to relive the moments on that list. I know I am.

*squee* Wedding. Tonight. Can't wait :D

A show to Love

gLee! It's a amazing! At first glance it may seem like a spinoff of HSM, but it's way better! It starts with this teacher, Mr. Schuester who decides the take on the project of the Glee club, after they lose their former teacher to weed. He is determined to make that club the champion of the school. After auditions he realizes that he needs a strong male lead, and this is where he does the first of questionable things, he recruits Finn, the quarterback by saying he found drugs in his locker!
Mr. Schuester strives for survival of the club and meets resistance from multiple levels while having to deal with some real personalities. Every group has a diva and in this there's two. Rachel, who seeks the limelight and makes daily updates to her MySpace page showcasing her talent and Mercedes, who is a Beyonce and not the destiny's child. Finn, the guy who likes to sing but is afraid of what others in the high school caste system my think or say. There's also Tina, the emo stutterer with low confidence, Kurt the fashionably gay guy and Artie, the kid on wheels who is musically talented. Of course we can't forget Sue Sylvester (40 year old virgin), who is the coach of the Cherios, and definitely a little crazy. She brings the randomness to the show.

Relationships. Every show has them, while Mr. Schuester is married he is involved is some romance himself. Emma, the germaphob guidance counselor has a major crush on him--and while neither of them really try to do anything about it they have their moments. In my opinon it could be classified as an escalated Jim/Pam situation. The second romance arises between Finn and Rachel--the queen of Glee, who gets some kind of drink spilled on her everyday. The problem here is that at first Rachel is fully into Finn although he's dating the head cheerleader Quinn. Well when Rachel helps Finn with his skills after Mr. Schuester plans to quit when he finds out that his wife is pregnant and they will need a higher income, they end up sharing a kiss that leads to an amazing perfomance by Lea Michele as Rachel singing "Take a Bow." And no lie its way better than Rihanna's version, how sad is that.
With all the comedy and minor drama and amazing talent it's hard not watch!

That's a wrap

1.10 "Don't Leave Me This Way"
School on Monday morning brings teasing between Kat and Patrick about what was said between them on the phone, cause she can't remember it. And school uniforms get instated along with security checks. Well Kat decides to use this as an opportunity to distract herself from her personal drama and stages a protest against the uniforms and the searches--with the help of Chastity. While Bianca deals with the aftermath of kissing Joey and wanting to do it again. At the protest Chastity gets her dad, the superintendent to get rid of the uniforms and everyone returns to class, except for Mandela, Patrick and the never-give-up Kat. But before the protest clears out she sees Joey kissing a girl in the hall. Chastity finds Bianca and requests that she help to find the so-called flusie and destroy her. When Kat's dad shows up, because he received a call about her skipping class, he tells her that she should go back to class because it could ruin her permanent record. And so she ends the protest, which Patrick is shocked by and a bit pissed. On their way back to class Patrick's bag is taken for a search and storms out of the school....and Kat follows behind him taking his bag right out of the hands of the security guard. She proceeds to hop on this motorcycle and they ride off into the afternoon sun.

Fin?

We'll see what happens when it returns in January 2010. That's right it got picked up for another run. But remember there are always consequences to any action.

Leftover Summer TV Viewing

1.06 "You Can't Always Get What You Want"

When Kat gets assigned a ...writing assignemnt in class and lies to Mandela about reading her report after getting tangled in grading affairs with the English teacher (who does come off as shallow to the naked eye), she discovers that she is selfish. Its a basic characteristic of teendom but of course she takes it to the next step and attempts to remedy it by making amends with Mandela and of course accepts that maybe she didn't really understand the story. While Bianca starts a website with her and another cheerleader who decide to pull a Katy Perry move to make some money for a mall crawl with Chasity. Also Pat and Cameron finally meet and Pat bestows some wisdom on him with his complete love of Bianca, which Cameron then turns and gets in a disagreement with some guy over the consequence of humiliating population from the fall out of the kiss. And Bianca steps in and stops the fight leading to more humiliation in the end.

1.07 "Light my Fire"

There's a wild forest fire, cause it's California and those happen--so everyone in the town is forced to spend the night at the school all together. Don't you just love dramatic social situations. Interestingly the episode starts with Patrick at Kat's window. And surprisngly enough she lets him into her room (showing that even if she denies it she has interest for him), where he tells her he has something to tell her. But before he gets the chance to, first comes Bianca followed by her dad, telling the girls that they have to leave the house.

While at the school Bianca gets wrapped in the drama of the cheer squad and finally tells Chastity off and somehow they become even better friends. Cameron feels guilt because he thinks he started the fire, The dad helps a pregnant lady manage pain while flirting with her friend and Kat spends tons of time glancing at the guy of her interests. She wonders what Patrick wants to tell her while the golden hearted activist in her helps organize and send out resources to the community. In the end when she takes some sage advice from an elderly woman she follows him onto the roof where there lips finally meet. It's pretty good check it out here:

But then he ruins it. When he finally tells her that she's not like other girls--sounds great right, its suposedly every teenage girls dream to hear that--he follows it with: It's great that we can make out and you won't make a big deal out of it. Wow! Right, I mean for being such a cool, level headed sauve kid he sure is stupid! I'm sorry but the beloved Patrick from the movie would never have uttered such horrible things to his Kat. That just doesn't cut it.

1.08 "Dance Little Sister"
Every highschool comedy/drama has dance! And this dance turned out to be full of drama and leads to some changes in relationships. Bianca gets asked to the dance by some cute guy she's been crushing on and after begging Kat to go, she turns to Patrick and asks her to take Kat to the dance. Of course he says yes with his smug self, saying he wants to see how she looks in a dress. After a hilarious examination of the dress by the father Bianca prettifies her sister and Kat heads to the dance with Patrick.
Well while at the dance Kat and Patrick are having a fun time, surprisingly. Bianca waits around her house and then she realizes that she got stood up. So she calls her bestie, Cameron. She's totally crushed because it was her first real date but Cameron encourages her to go to the dance with him. While there though, Bianca finds out that Cameron sabotaged her date. He stole the guy's cell phone! But for a good reason, because he was talking about taking Bianca to a hotel room after the dance (sound familiar?). So Bianca is pissed and refuses to talk to Cameron. For some reason Patrick leaves the dance and promises to come back, but he never does. So in the end both the sister's get stood up.

1.09 "Fight for Your Right"
Their Dad leaves town for the weekend and Bianca decides to throw the ultimate party to boost her popularity. And of course it turns into this wicked rager! Well Patrick shows up and after he explains to Kat that he got arrested under a misunderstanding, she brushes him off and refuses to hear a word he has to say. Before leaving he tells her, that she may just end up alone because no one is as perfect as she is. This is now rolling around in her head as she attempts to establish some kind of order in the madness that is the party downstairs, first by instigating safe rides home. Of course Bianca fights her the whole way and it culminates when Kat attempts to officially shut down the party, and when Bianca essentially repeats what Patrick told her, Kat decides that its time she had some fun in her life and not be the perfect little angel. Thus leaving Bianca in charge. Things get interesting to say the least, Kat gets drunk and pulls off the whole risky business look and belts out some random tune before drunk dialing Patrick to ask him to come back over. Eventually she finds Cameron, who is also snockered from eating a watermelon. He asks her some advice about how to apology to Bianca before telling Bianca that he is both sorry and in love with her. The news comes as shock to her, because she both thinks he's gay but also doesnt feel the same way about him and a despress Cameron leaves the party. More drama occurs when Chastity and Joey break up in the middle of the party. Finally Bianca decides that the party has gotten way out of hand and decides that it time to shut it down. When her attempts fail her and Joey concoct a plan--and I have to say that it is the best way I've seen a party shut down. They tell everyone that someone was in there with crabs (heh) and the place is cleared within a minute! But that's not all the writers throw in a kiss, between Joey and Bianca! Yea, that right it's a breif peck that they both decided is a mistake and not right, even if, as Joey puts it was great.

Allison Iraheta's New Single, "Friday I'll Be Over U"

Hey, look at that! Not everything is about Kris Allen after all.

Y'all remember Allison? The little red haired rocker, with one of the most amazing voices you will ever hear? Yeah, it's her first single! I'll admit that this is a little more pop than I was expecting from her, and I think it's overproduced a little bit too much, to the point where sometimes it's hard to distinguish her unique voice. But overall? I kind of love it. It's catchy as hell and I already have it stuck in my head. I hope it's a huge hit for her, and I'm kinda hoping she becomes the 100 million times more awesome and talented version of Miley Cyrus, since I think they'll be marketing her towards the same market. Her album will also be out on December 1st! I can't wait! Go Allison!

What do you think?

I'm on a posting spree!

Finish the book, Lea

This blog may or may not be about me. I think you should go there and check it out! :)

Bored to Death

I remember vaguely hearing about this show, but never giving it much thought. Over the weekend, however, I was, well, bored, and decided to watch the first two episodes on HBO. I loved it. It has that kind of quirky, dark humor thing going on. Lots of deadpan stares and sarcastic quips, coupled with some pretty out there characters. The best part of the show is of course, Jason Schwartzman, who I've come to the realization that I may be in love with. Zach Galifianakis is also just as amazing in this show as he was in The Hangover, and Ted Danson is just kind of crazy.

I'm putting this baby on my TiVo.

Gideon

Ok, so if you really want to laugh, watch this. No seriously, watch it. It's amazing. I love both of these guys so much.

Very excite

Just thought I'd give you a little update on the A Game of Thrones pilot! Things are coming along very very nicely. Production is set to start this month and almost all of the major roles have been cast. Last time I posted about this project only Peter Dinklage and Sean Bean had been cast, but there's some really great people added since:

Jennifer Ehle as Catelyn
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime
Tamzin Merchant as Daenarys
Lena Headey as Cersei

You can see a complete cast list with pictures here. The kids playing Sansa, Arya, and Robb also look fantastic. Actually, I think everyone looks fantastic. I think the cast is shaping up to be better than I ever could have thought. I never imagined Lena Headey as Cersei, but now that she's been cast? It's perfect. And the more I see of Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the more I approve of him as Jaime. Which is extremely important of course, because he's my favorite character :)

I think if done right, this show is going to be HUGE. It fits the bill as HBO's next Rome, but has the potential to reach even more people than Rome ever did. It will attract people who love great drama and political intrigue, but it will also grab people who enjoy fantasy and sword fighting, etc. It technically hasn't been picked up to series yet (HBO has to see the pilot first), but I have faith, because so far it sounds like everyone involved is doing a really great job with it.
